MEK “resistance units”

On July 17, tens of thousands of Iranian who support the (PMOI / MEK Iran) and the (NCRI) join an international conference.

The mullahs’ regime must feel that it is being threatened as it is arresting more and more people for what they believe politically supporters of The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran). No doubt their failure to address the pandemic has made them more vulnerable to criticism and it is clear they have concealed the truth about the death toll.

Meanwhile, there are reports that reveal the true toll from the virus by The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran) announced on Sunday, July 12, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 342 cities in Iran is more than 69,800. It also indicates that the regime has no intention of bringing in medical resources to help reduce the current alarming death toll. The regime has been warned that its poor response is likely to lead to more anti-regime protests especially by the MEK “resistance units” across the country.

In response, families, and friends of political prisoners, supporters of The (PMOI / MEK Iran) are now being targeted by being arrested and questioned. The purpose of all this harassment is to break the prisoners’ allegiance to the (PMOI / MEK Iran) by coercing them into denouncing the (PMOI / MEK Iran) and the Iranian resistance.

Throughout many decades of suppression in Iran the MEK “resistance units” have never stopped all their hard work for support for a regime change and a move towards Iran being a free and democratic society. Over time the (PMOI / MEK Iran) has built up more and more supporters.

Protests from 2009 to 2020

Throughout these last few years, the number of protests against the regime has grown considerably. In 2009 most of the protestors were young people but by 2018 this had changed to involve residents from many different walks of life including those from the grassroots throughout Iran.

This change in the type of people joining the (PMOI / MEK Iran) has had a marked impact on the regime and has become a worrying trend so the best way counteract this trend is to arrest potential sympathizers and either shoot or torture them into submission. However, these sorts of tactics will not suppress dissent for too long.

Ongoing Successes by Iran’s Resistance Movement, MEK and NCRI Should Inspire Support From Abroad

At the July 17th online conference many policymakers, who support the (PMOI / MEK Iran) and the (NCRI) will be asked to consider carefully the tactics used by the regime to suppress dissent. President-elect of the (NCRI), Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, will emphasize that the treatment being forced on political prisoners in Iran is a sign of the recent and ongoing successes made by Iran’s pro-democracy activists.

On July 17, tens of thousands of Iranian join an international conference held by the Iranian Resistance movement, the MEK and NCRI. The Free Iran Global Summit will be a socially distanced alternative to the annual rally organized near Paris by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

Many expatriate communities will hold gatherings within their own countries, and these will be connected into one overarching event by a live stream that will be viewed by additional participants, policymakers, and journalists.
