(PMOI / MEK Iran) and (NCRI): Iran’s Vice President Ansieh Khazali Supports Child Marriage.

While Taliban militants destroyed the Norwegian embassy in Kabul and set fire to children’s books, the Iranian dictatorship has appointed Ansieh Khazali as Vice President, defying human rights critics who consider child marriage and abuse of young girls.

‘Marriage for Minutes’

Marriage to a female [infant or breastfeeding] is legal in Iran under the current Islamist law. Any male in that country can marry a girl or woman by conducting a religious procedure that takes less than a minute.

In the majority of cases, such as ‘Marriage for Minutes’ or ‘Mut’ah Marriages’ take place.

Even if the girl is still a baby

Even if the girl is still a baby being breastfed, a man can marry a female less than nine years of age. However, a man is prohibited from having relations with a girl under the age of nine.

Ansieh Khazali as Raisi vice president

And now, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who is well-known for his activities as a torturer and mass murderer of political detainees, has appointed Ansieh Khazali as his vice president, who will push the insane practice of child and infant marriages ahead.

According to media sources, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s newly appointed vice president for women and family affairs supports child marriage, despite human rights critics who consider the practice as abuse of young girls.

60 percent of the population now living in poverty

As Iran’s economy shambles, with 60 percent of the population now living in poverty, some impoverished families are marrying off their young girls to older men as a “solution.”

At the very least, the girls will be taken care of and will no longer be a financial burden on the family. The number of child marriages rises in accordance with the deteriorating economic situation.

(NCRI) and (PMOI / MEK Iran): While the Iranian regime spends billions to prop up the Syrian dictatorship, millions of Iranians are living under the absolute poverty line.

The UN Special Rapporteur on Iran’s Human Rights

The UN Special Rapporteur on Iran’s Human Rights, Javaid Rehman, has called for “immediate reforms” for women and girls in the restrictive Islamic Republic, citing child marriage as an example of extreme maltreatment and exploitation of women and girls.

Disastrous for Iranian women and girls

What we do know is that President Raisi’s appointment of the hideous Ansieh Khazali to the position of Vice-President for Women and Family Affairs will be disastrous for Iranian women and girls.

Their deplorable position would be verified and accentuated. Her office will discourage them from pursuing an education or vocational training for a job outside the home, while pious Muslim women should ideally stay at home.

Opposition to the brutal Islamist rule

Nonetheless, pro-democracy and anti-mullah regime elements in Iran, as well as Iranians in other countries, are becoming increasingly vocal in their opposition to the brutal Islamist rule. They are chanting louder, “Get out of Iran, mullahs!”
