Iranian mullahs and coronavirus crisis

Khamenei and Rouhani minimize the danger of the COVID-19 and refuse to take any position on this colossal crisis.

The Iranian regime officials followed a cover-up policy regarding the COVID-19 outbreak.

Since mid-January, the virus had entered Iran. Without no doubt, the officials, including Khamenei and the Rouhani’s Government’s Health Ministry, were aware of the spread of the COVID-19 in Iran. They had enough time to take preventive measures regarding the disease. Still, they deliberately delayed preventing a massive boycott of the planned pro-government rallies on February 11 and the February 21 parliamentary elections.

Even then, for weeks, Khamenei minimized the danger of the COVID-19 and refused to take any position on this colossal crisis.

The critical situation of the regime’s structure has added to the crisis. Now, divisions in decision-making authorities have no results. No physical distancing or total closure is visible in the country.

Regime’s criminal policies and negligence regarding the COVID-19 crisis have resulted in thousands of innocent lives. Apart from people’s distrust in the system, many don’t believe government official numbers and statistics and know the government is lying. Over 30,000 people have died of the novel Coronavirus in 294 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK Iran) until April 16, 2020.

The Jahan-e Sanat daily wrote on April 6 that Unfortunately there is no decision-making institution within the ruling system. The president’s policies are not stable. One day he says the routine of the country becomes normal, and another day he says we have 20 thousand empty hospital beds: Iran is the only country that is in complete disarray and absolute uncertainty and confusion. He wants a shutdown to control the situation and a non-shutdown to have no commitment or responsibility to the large number of people who have become unemployed. … On the other hand, decisions made about prisons has also become a problem. Disturbing news is heard from inside the jails. Report on riots continue pouring in from various prisons in the provinces. If these unrests turn into a problem riot, who will be responsible?

Instead of financing people’s daily life so that they would not be forced to go back to work during the COVID-19 crisis, they announced the quarantine cancelation. A criminal act that, according to the regime’s experts, will leave millions of victims.

Earlier the urgent bill to lock down the country was ruled out of parliament agenda by Khamenei’s order. In this way, he is responsible for sending people to COVID-19’s altar.

Meanwhile, 60% of the Iranian people’s capital is at the disposal of large financial institutions such as Execution of Khomeini’s Order (EIKO), Khatam Al-Anbia Base, Astan-e Quds Razavi and the Mostazafan Foundation of Islamic Revolution.

One can conclude that regime officials’ decisions show they have no control over the crisis, and the dimension of COVID-19 consequences are terrifying.

Massih Mohajeri, the editor in chief of Jahan-e-Sanat, wrote:

To solve the problems, huge financial institutions that are capable, must get involved because their property belongs to the people.” “If the Setad Mostazafan Foundation, and Astan-e Quds Foundation use their vast financial resources to help the damaged segments of the society during the coronavirus outbreak, their problems will be solved in the shortest time,”

Under the excuse of fighting coronavirus, Khamenei officially appointed the General Staff of the IRGC as responsible for establishing a military-security base, which has also taken over part of governmental affairs and is a military government to control the situation and prevent possible uprisings.

Iran has no strategy in the fight against the COVID-19. The regime used the crisis to get cash and lift sanctions to help its proxies in the region or to finance the IRGC forces. Otherwise, it would not have expelled the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and claimed the country does not need them. But instantly asked the World Health Organization (WHO) 5 billion dollars in a loan. Yes, the regime needs no medicines or doctors but cash!

Clearly said during his cabinet meeting on March 26, that Javad Zarif had launched the “campaign to lift sanctions for the reason of COVID-19. The Foreign Ministry has started outstanding efforts to move public opinion and say no to the sanctions. The efforts’ aim is that in this situation, our blocked money in various countries is released.”

While the Health Minister had announced that there is no “shortage of goods, medicine, and imports, and we can fully meet the country’s needs inside according to the official announced protocols. (https://twitter.com/i/status/1243228534870552576)

Now there is no doubt that between people’s health and recommencing economic activities, the regime has chosen the second and has decided to send millions to a COVID-19 hit society, which reminds similar criminal acts carried out by Khomeini in sending thousands of school-boys to the minefields during Iran-Iraq war.

Unlike other countries in the world, the Mullahs’ regime ruling Iran is in confrontation with the Iranian people. It is well aware that possible uprisings such as November 2019 are on their way. For this reason, the regime is preparing the situation for millions of casualties in secret.

According to reports obtained by MEK’s internal network, which is confirmed by Reuters and the U.S. State Department, more than 1500 innocent protesters were killed during November nationwide uprising by the suppressive IRGC and Basij forces.

As Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said in her Persian New Year (Nowruz) remarks, “there is a single solution for Coronavirus, for poverty, oppression, and tyranny. That solution is overthrowing the mullahs’ religious dictatorship in its entirety.”
