(PMOI / MEK Iran) and (NCRI): Corruption and incompetence of the mullahs’ regime in Iran.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), reported that Ebrahim Raisi, the regime’s new president, said on Wednesday that “the country’s inflation rate should be controlled and reduced.”

Iran’s economic problems

Raisi has been the president for about a month now. Despite this, he has just made false statements and read a “to-do list,” and he has not taken or advocated any serious initiatives to resolve Iran’s economic problems.

“Since the new administration took office, there have been no significant changes in the prices of people’s basic necessities. On September 28, the state-run Arman daily reported that “prices have been skyrocketing.”

Rostam Ghasemi, Raisi’s Minister of Urban and Development, was charged with corruption in Iran before the allegations were withdrawn. Other members of Raisi’s government, such as his vice-president Mohammad Mokhber, have held top positions in the regime’s plundering institutions, such as the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO)., under the Supreme Leader’s authority.

“So far, Raisi’s government and parliament decisions have not only failed to curb inflation but have also served as the foundation for inflation growth,” says the report. Raisi’s inability to control Iran’s growing inflation rate was also acknowledged by the Setar-e Sobh daily.

Inflation is announced at 46 percent

“Inflation is announced at 46 percent, but no action is taken by officials. Why? Is it necessary for officials and policymakers to hear worse to move? The people’s destitution over the previous decade, as well as the crushing of their bones beneath increasing costs and unemployment, has transformed life into a horrific nightmare for huge sectors of Iranian society,” wrote the state-run Sharq daily on Tuesday. “A nightmare for the system that appears to be intangible. Sharq continued, “Perhaps officials believe there is still room for the situation to deteriorate and become uncontrollable, and for society to become exhausted.”

The true cause of Iran’s rising inflation rate is the country’s continual liquidity expansion, which is far outpacing its output pace.

As per Arman daily, since the regime has started “banknote printing,” to compensate its budget deficit, Iran’s “GDP and the liquidity in the society have sharply increased. The sharp increase in liquidity has caused the society to face a situation in which inflation rapidly rises.”

Inflation is not a cause in and of itself

“Inflation is not a cause in and of itself,” the state-run Jahan-e Sanat daily wrote on Wednesday. It is the result of a variety of economic actions such as monetary base and liquidity expansion. Instead of leading to increased production, inflation occurs when money is generated and circulated throughout the economy.”

“Have sanctions been able to crush the country’s domestic production to such an extent?” Jahan-e Sanat then queries.

The repeated economic crises that the dictatorship has manufactured and exacerbated have turned society into a ticking bomb.

“We will face popular protests if [the regime] does not act or think about the situation; given the economic conditions of the majority of people, it is safe to say that the entire society lives below the poverty line,” said Soheila Jolodarzadeh, a former regime MP.

“People’s patience has a limit in the face of adversity, and they can only endure to a certain extent. They do not want us to allow them to protest when they see that they have nothing to lose,” she warned regime officials on Thursday, according to the state-run ILNA News Agency.
