Thanks to the quick actions of those present, a potential disaster was narrowly averted. German police swiftly took charge, investigating the incident as part of a disturbing pattern of assaults against NCRI-affiliated entities.
This recent attack in Berlin is not an isolated incident but follows a series of assaults on NCRI offices in Europe. Previously, similar attacks were executed on NCRI offices in Paris on May 31 and June 11, 2023. These attacks involved the use of handmade bombs and a handgun. In each instance, the residents’ alertness and prompt response played a crucial role in averting casualties. Regrettably, the perpetrators of these attacks remain at large, casting a shadow of unease over the Iranian resistance community.
European law enforcement agencies are rigorously investigating these incidents. Meanwhile, the NCRI points an accusing finger at the Iranian regime and its foreign mercenaries, claiming these attacks as part of a broader, sinister campaign. This claim gains credibility in the wake of the controversial release of Tehran’s diplomat-terrorist Asadollah Assadi in a questionable prisoner swap.
The Iranian regime’s history is marred by decades of hostage-taking and terrorism. It has consistently demonstrated its capacity to empower a fundamentally corrupt and extremist regime. The Iranian Resistance, especially the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK), has often been the target of Tehran’s terrorism, both within Iran and internationally. The Resistance has played a pivotal role in unmasking the regime’s global network of militias and terror cells, which operate from embassies and diplomatic consulates worldwide.
The roots of these terror incidents lie deep within the Iranian regime’s playbook, which initially targets opposition groups like the MEK with dehumanization and demonization tactics. These strategies have evolved into mass arrests, genocidal campaigns, and international propaganda efforts, as recently exposed in the “Iran Expert Initiative.” The Western response to these developments, particularly the narratives embraced by proponents of appeasement policies, has been marked by a degree of complacency.
These stances often echo Tehran’s demands to crack down on the MEK and the NCRI, under the guise of strategic cooperation. However, as Tehran intensifies its domestic crackdown and supports extremist militias in the Middle East, the West faces the grim possibility of a major terror attack on its soil.
Fundamentalism and terrorism under the banner of Islam, whether Shiite or Sunni, are either promoted and financed by the Iranian regime, or have their origins in the regime.

This series of events underscores a troubling reality: Western complacency and the appeasement of the Iranian regime have inadvertently paved the way for state-sponsored terrorism. Once again, it seems, the Iranian Resistance is poised to bear the brunt of this burdensome cost.
