In a stark contrast to its ongoing involvement in Middle Eastern conflicts, the Iranian regime is intensifying its crackdown on domestic dissent, marking a distressing escalation in its campaign of suppression.

Over the past month, the regime has executed over 100 individuals, signaling a worrying trend of increased political executions. This campaign has tragically included the recent executions of Milad Zohrevand, a young participant in the 2022 uprising, and Ali Saber Motlaq, an affiliate of the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

These actions appear designed to instill terror and discourage participation in the burgeoning resistance and organized protests within Iran. Yet, despite these efforts, the regime is facing robust opposition, particularly from the Resistance Units, a network of PMOI supporters active throughout the country.

The Resistance Units have been visibly spreading the messages of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and NCRI president-elect Maryam Rajavi. In Shiraz and Mashhad, members displayed posters of Maryam Rajavi on bridges, while in Sari, chants of defiance against the regime leadership echoed through the streets.

Notably, in Tehran, Karaj, and Shiraz, the Resistance Units disseminated posters of Massoud Rajavi emblazoned with the message, “The uprising of the people will not be stopped.

In Hamedan, the visual impact was powerful, with posters featuring both Massoud Rajavi and Maryam Rajavi, conveying messages about the inevitable overthrow of what they deem an anti-human enemy and the primary demand for regime change. The resistance’s scope extended to Sistan and Baluchestan province, showing solidarity with the heavily oppressed Baluch people. In Zahedan and Rask, the Resistance Units displayed placards condemning years of crimes by the regime and vowing to persevere until the end.

As the regime grapples with its dwindling power to suppress another wave of protests, it seeks to divert attention from its internal crises and the growing unrest in Iranian society by leveraging external conflicts, such as the war in Gaza.

However, the regime’s tactics, whether warmongering or suppression, are consistently met with the unwavering efforts of the Resistance Units. The prevailing sentiment among these groups is clear: neither the regime’s external conflicts nor its internal crackdowns will prevent what they see as its inevitable downfall.
