Former Foreign Minister of France, Bernard Kouchner, voiced his strong support for the Iranian Resistance movement at the Free Iran World Summit 2023 on July 1st.

Amid a powerful gathering of world leaders, Kouchner stressed the urgent need for liberation in Iran while raising grave concerns over the nation’s production of warfare weapons.

Kouchner pointed out Iran’s dangerous alliance with Russia, identifying it as a significant contributor to the ongoing unrest in Ukraine. He made particular mention of the drones, manufactured by Iran, that are “currently bombing and killing the Ukrainian people.”

“There is an alliance that is being created and is very, very dangerous. I am referring to Russia and Iran. The supply of weapons from Iran to Russia, and what follows, namely the assassination of the Ukrainian people, who are defending themselves very well, and I salute them too,” said Kouchner, emphasizing the far-reaching implications of Iran’s military industry and political alliances.

He warmly acknowledged the successful authorization allowing these protests, a sign of growing international support for Iran’s resistance movement. “Today is a special day. I’m very proud to be French. Because while we are gathering and talking together, in Paris, thousands and thousands of Iranians are demonstrating in the streets of Paris,” he noted, underscoring the significant impact of such gatherings on a global scale.

In his impassioned speech, Kouchner extended his praise and admiration to the thousands of Iranians rallying in Paris, highlighting their bravery and dedication to the cause of liberation.

Recognizing the role of the Iranian opposition President-elect Maryam Rajavi of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), Kouchner commended her fight against the mullah regime. “I wouldn’t mention my admiration for the fight of Mrs. Rajavi, and for the impact it has in the world, and for all the good that I wish for her in order to finally change this regime of the mullahs,” he asserted.

Calling out to Iranians, he urged them to see the interconnectedness of the events in their country and their ties with international affairs. His emphasis on the dangerous state of the world was twofold, addressing the threats from Iran’s weapon production and the oppressive mullah regime.

In a compelling close, Kouchner reiterated his unwavering commitment to the cause and his aspiration for a victorious regime change. He concluded by expressing his gratitude to Mrs. Rajavi and all Iranians involved in the struggle for a free Iran. “I obviously wish you victory in, and I thank you very much,” Kouchner expressed in his closing remarks.
