MEK Iran: Khamenei’s Hypocritical Meeting with Health Workers
Iranian state-run media said on December 12 that the Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had met with numerous nurses and family members of medical workers who died during the Covid-19 outbreak in Iran, despite the regime’s disastrous response. Rather than proposing solutions to some of the nurses’ complaints and the ongoing Covid-19 crisis during the meeting, Khamenei dismissed the issues, referring to an “enemy” who was attempting to “change the place of the oppressor and the oppressed.”
Khamenei is responsible for the high death of Covid
“Khamenei’s blatant remarks come as the death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 488,100,” the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) claimed. Iranians, particularly nurses, hold Khamenei responsible for the high death toll resulting from his decree banning the import of American and European vaccines.”Hundreds of Iranian nurses died as a result of the virus during the outbreak, according to Iranian officials, and dozens more committed suicide as a result of their difficult working conditions. Many more have left the country to work in other countries.
Last year, roughly 1250 nurses applied for immigration, as per Abbas Ebadi, the Deputy Minister of Nursing at the Ministry of Health. Estimates, on the other hand, seem to indicate that this figure is significantly larger.
Registered nurses in Iran earn about $134 per month
Iranian nurses have staged dozens of demonstrations in recent weeks, expressing their dissatisfaction with their working conditions and the government’s lack of support. Unlike their overseas counterparts, Iranian nurses were denied basic rights while working throughout the pandemic last year and into this year.
“Nurses in Iran do not receive their salaries for months,” the NCRI said. Nurses on temporary contracts face a particularly difficult situation. They are at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19, yet many of them are uninsured.”
Temporary workers are not entitled to benefits, bonuses, or incentives, and their monthly salaries average around 40 million rials ($134). Even on official contracts, nurses receive only 70 million rials (about $235), which is much less than nurses’ earnings in other nations. Registered nurses in the United States earn about $6,000 per month or over $77,000 per year.
Khamenei has refused to spend a single dollar on healthcare
The Iranian regime has more than enough money to better pay its nurses, but they would rather use it to fund its terrorist proxy groups. The salaries of these proxy groups range from $800 to $1,500, according to an exclusive report issued by the Iranian Resistance in April 2020.
“Khamenei has refused to spend a single dollar on Iran’s severely compromised healthcare system. Khamenei and his administration have referred to the Covid-19 outbreak as a ‘test’ and a ‘blessing’ since the beginning. In January, he issued an explicit ban on licensed American and British vaccines,” per the report.
Khamenei insisted on developing local ‘vaccinations’ through the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO), a big financial institution he controls, after barring the import of renowned foreign vaccines.
Khamenei tries to whitewash himself from 490,100 deaths
If certified vaccines had been permitted into Iran, or if the government had dedicated enough funds to the Iranian healthcare system, the regime’s mortality and infection rates could have been dramatically reduced. Khamenei, on the other hand, was just concerned with padding his own pockets.
The recent strike by Iranian teachers and ongoing protests in Iran by people from all walks of life are signs of a restive society. Khamenei tries to whitewash himself from Iran’s Covid-19 catastrophe with over 490,100 deaths and an increasing public hatred toward the regime by shedding crocodile tears for people,” the NCRI stated.
