NUCLEAR TALK

(NCRI) and (PMOI / MEK Iran): There has been no doubt about any party’s ambition to revive the JCPOA since the Biden administration took office in Washington and expressed its willingness to re-enter the accord that its predecessor had pulled out of.

Following the latest round of nuclear deal talks with Iran’s government, European officials admitted on Tuesday that the deal will soon be an ’empty shell,’ and that they have yet to engage in ‘real’ negotiations with the regime. The European authorities’ acknowledgement shows the absurdity of the negotiations and efforts to resurrect the deeply deficient deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

“The negotiations had been delayed for five months following the appointment of Ebrahim Raisi,” the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) declared, “but resumed at the start of the previous week, with the stated goal of restoring all parties’ compliance with the 2015 agreement.”

Enrique Mora, a European Union diplomat who chaired the meetings last Thursday, expressed optimism about the talks, saying that after the meeting, he sensed a “renewed sense of purpose” among all parties interested in finding a deal to resurrect the JCPOA.His optimism, on the other hand, was not shared by British, French, German, and American officials, who slammed the regime for making unreasonable demands and refusing to comply with the procedures.

Germany and France have accused mullahs of abandoning

On Thursday, German officials in the talks urged the government to return with ‘realistic ideas,’ while British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss claimed that it was the regime’s ‘last chance to sign up,’ and that ‘it is in their interests to do so.’

“These remarks from high-ranking officials may indicate that the international community is preparing a last-ditch effort to save the negotiating process by persuading Tehran of the need for compromise,” the NCRI added. Iranian delegates have mostly reaffirmed their demand that the US lift all sanctions imposed or re-imposed after then-President Donald Trump withdrew out of the JCPOA in 2018.”

While the regime demanded that they contemplate returning to compliance under the JCPOA’s conditions only when sanctions relief had been verified, they have made no such offer. Germany and France have accused the regime of ‘abandoning commitments’ reached during previous negotiating sessions before June.

It’s no secret that the mullahs have been buying time

Following the US withdrawal from the JCPOA during Trump’s presidency, Vice President Joe Biden signalled his administration’s openness to re-enter the deal shortly after taking office earlier this year. The question remains, however, whether it will be feasible to restore the agreement in a manner that will please all of the signatories, but recent sessions have shown that this is doubtful.

It’s no secret that the government has been buying time during prior talks in order to pursue their nuclear programme in covertly.

“Western powers should know that the JCPOA was an ’empty shell’ from the start,” the NCRI warned. The regime never followed through on its obligations under the JCPOA.

Iranian Resistance: Only firmness could break this cycle

Rafael Grossi, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), visited Iran last month for detailed talks about the country’s nuclear programme. These discussions “proved inconclusive,” according to Grossi, who added that the IAEA’s decision to deny inspectors access to the Karaj site is “seriously affecting the Agency’s ability to restore continuity of knowledge at the workshop.”

“Only firmness could break this cycle,” the Iranian Resistance has previously warned. The six resolutions of the United Nations Security Council must be reactivated. The nuclear sites of the Iranian regime should be decommissioned, and the regime should stop enriching uranium. Inspections should be carried out anywhere and at any time.”

The site, located in the Abadeh, Fars province, is one of two locations that the regime had denied access to IAEA inspectors for months. The NCRI’s revelation comes at a time that IAEA inspectors found traces of uranium particles there.
