Albanian Police reveals a terrorist plot against MEK

Albanian Police revealed a terrorist plot against MEK on October 23, 2019

The Iranian regime has been conducting terrorist activities and plotting in Albania for several years. It has focused on this tiny nation in Europe because it has become the home to the Iranian Resistance after the release of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran) members from Campy Liberty / Camp Ashraf in Iraq.

Demonizing campaign against the Iranian resistance

The Iranian regime has been demonizing the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), its main opposition, for decades. In fact, the regime has tried to wipe its opposition out completely, carrying out mass killings and trying to silence the voice of resistance.

More than 120,000 people have been brutally murdered by the regime, yet resistance is still very much present and determination is stronger than ever before.

The terrorist plot against MEK in Albania

Since arriving in Albania, the MEK has seen the regime try to bomb their facilities and target their members. In 2018, the Albanian authorities foiled a plot to bomb the MEK’s Iranian New Year celebrations. The terrorists they arrested had come from Iran, and the involvement of the regime’s ambassador was established.

The country’s state police also said that gangs of drug traffickers with links to the regime’s terrorist Quds Force had involvement with the plot.

To demonize its opposition, the regime has a number of agents in Albania that pose as former members of the MEK. There are also locals that pose as journalists.

Mullahs regime using a local agent as journalists

Asghar Abzari, a member of the Iranian Resistance, explains in an article that these journalists are extremely active and present a clear threat to the MEK. He identifies the so-called journalists as Olsi Jazexhi and Gjergji Thanasi and explains some of the activities they have carried out. For example, in August last year, Jazexhi posted an hour-long “interview” on YouTube where he spoke to Parvin Zamani – another alleged journalist that is actually a known regime supporter and lobby. They discuss how to destroy the MEK’s residence in Albania (Ashraf 3).

Even more recently than this was a video interview where Thanasi told Jazexhi that the MEK would be taught “one or two lessons” by the Albanians. He said that the people of Manza (where Ashraf 3 is located) are proud and that he knows his “Albania”. Quite frankly, this is insulting to the people of Manza.

The attack against the MEK in Iraq

It is also an echo of what happened in Iraq. When the Iranian regime’s terrorist Quds Force led an attack against the (PMOI / MEK Iran) in Iraq, the regime said the attacks were carried out by the “proud people” and young people of Iraq that wanted to teach the MEK a lesson.

Thanasi and Jazexhi have published dozens of articles about the MEK in the past year. Each has been full of lies, insults, and deceit and on some days there are dozens of social media posts. The Iranian Resistance has discovered that these two individuals are being paid around €1,000 per month.

The (PMOI / MEK Iran) is the biggest threat to the regime’s existence and it is trying everything in its power to lessen its influence. However, all the regime has managed to do is turn more and more people against the mullahs and towards the democratic opposition that wants to see the regime fall.
