Corrupt Iranian Regime

The MEK Resistance Units are Leading the Fight Against the Corrupt Regime of the mullahs.

The growing number of mass political protests in Iran is a clear sign that the corrupt regime of the mullahs is on its last legs. Just when they will succumb to a new and even more powerful revolt is hard to say but it could come sooner than many have thought possible.

In Iran, the existence of cells organized by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran) has meant that many of the recent protests have been well coordinated.  There have been five nationwide uprisings between December 2017 and January 2020, demonstrating the readiness of Iranian society to seek an alternative to the medieval regime that has been holding Iranians back for the last 40 years.

Protesters have made their voice heard by chanting such slogans as:

  • “Death to Khamenei”;
  • “Death to Rouhani”;
  • “No Shah, No Sheikh”;
  • “For 40 years we shed bloodied tears, enough is enough, we’ll take a stand.”

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the main Iranian opposition organization, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), has commented on the ongoing protests. She says that the regime is far from stable and the protests could see a regime change. “Reformists, hardliners, the game is over,” she says.

The Iranian Resistance insists that regime change must come from within Iran, not from outside.  The MEK’s Resistance Units are part of a network of activists in Iran intent on regime change.

According to state-run media in Iran, the MEK is the main force behind recent protests. The MEK Resistance Units have been organizing strikes, protests, anti-regime graffiti slogans in between major protests.

These activities have been a major boost to the morale of many Iranians who despise the regime. The state-run media have said that the situation in Iran has come about because of “people’s mistrust toward the establishment.”

Slogans by brave MEK Resistance Unit activists have included:

  • “Down with the principle of the Supreme Leader’s rule”;
  • “Khamenei’s rule will be overthrown”;

Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, has stated that “the MEK is the third side of a triangle that created the uprising that they had prepared since months earlier.” The Baharestaneh state-run website said on August 28th, 2018 that “in the past, the counter-revolution forces led by the MEK were present in the country but today they have infiltrated in all classes such as truckers, marketers, those who lost their assets to credit institutions, teachers, workers, etc…

“The rioters, led by the MEK, lack political considerations. They do not recognize any faction within the establishment. They show as much respect for the reformists as they do for the hardliners! This means that the trust and attachment to any faction have disappeared.

“[The rioters] have formed groups they call the Resistance Units that have both the ability to multiply and the potential to replace the leaders of the scene.”

Khamenei again referred to the influence of the MEK when he spoke to Basij members on May 17th this year: “everyone should be careful about the enemy recruiting members of our young society… I have always said that I believe and hope to have a ‘young and Hezbollahi’ government, meaning an effective and high-spirited government that can resolve our problems,” he said.

He later went on to say “you should not allow the enemy to take advantage of your protests. They are waiting to use any such opportunity… The enemy will portray your protests over whatever subject as dissent against the state, and provide such an image to their viewers… Be careful of those who take advantage of these protests to pursue their objectives against the state,”

Khamenei referred to the MEK as a “wicked and criminal collective” after the November 2019 protests.

The Secretary for the Supreme National Security Council said on November 24th “I believe 34 MEK members have been arrested so far. A vast network of individuals, operating not under the MEK’s name, but pursuing their line and modus operandi were also identified.”
