The President-elect of the NCRI emphasized that those responsible for the heinous atrocities in November, the regime’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei, its president Hassan Rouhani, and other regime leaders, have been involved in the ruling theocracy’s crimes, including the massacre of 1988 in which 30,000 political prisoners mainly the MEK Iran members and supporters. Their impunity must end. The Security Council must qualify the regime’s crimes, including the 1988 and the 2019 massacres, as crimes against humanity so that those responsible are brought to justice.
Mrs. Rajavi also wrote on Twitter:
“The United Nations Security Council must declare the November massacre, one of the most horrific crimes of the 21st century, as a crime against humanity so that the regime’s leaders are brought to justice.”
The NCRI’s statement adds:
” The United Nations Security Council must declare the November massacre, one of the most horrific crimes of the 21st century, as a crime against humanity so that the regime’s leaders are brought to justice.”
