NCRI-US Deputy Director Alireza Jafarzadeh speaks with RSBN’s Robert McNeily at CPAC 2025 Day 2
At CPAC 2025, Alireza Jafarzadeh, Deputy Director of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) – U.S. Representative Office, delivered a stark warning regarding Iran’s nuclear program. Speaking with RSBN’s Robert McNeily on February 21, Jafarzadeh asserted that Iran’s nuclear ambitions have never been peaceful and that failed diplomatic efforts have only strengthened the regime. Calling for stronger sanctions, increased international pressure, and direct support for the Iranian Resistance, he emphasized that regime change is the only viable path to halting Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.
Jafarzadeh recalled how the NCRI first exposed Iran’s clandestine nuclear sites in 2002, revealing the true nature of Tehran’s nuclear pursuits. “They have enriched uranium beyond peaceful levels, developed warheads, and weaponized missiles—yet face little scrutiny,” he stated, blaming previous U.S. and European policies for legitimizing, rather than halting, Iran’s nuclear activities.
Criticizing the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Jafarzadeh argued that the organization has failed to hold Iran accountable. He accused the regime of manipulating inspections and blocking access to key military sites. “The only negotiation worth pursuing is about when and how they will shut down their nuclear weapons program,” he asserted.

Jafarzadeh expressed skepticism regarding diplomatic approaches to curbing Iran’s nuclear development, asserting that such efforts have emboldened Tehran rather than deterring it. “The only way to end the nuclear threat is to end the rule of the clerics,” he insisted.
Pointing to nine major uprisings in Iran since 2018, Jafarzadeh emphasized that the Iranian people have consistently rejected dictatorship, demanding free elections, a secular republic, and an end to theocracy. “The Iranian people have spoken. They want democracy, not dictatorship under any form,” he declared.
He dismissed fears of post-regime chaos, stating that the NCRI has developed a clear roadmap for a democratic transition. This plan includes holding free elections within six months of the regime’s collapse. “The real source of chaos is the regime itself. The alternative is a democratic Iran,” he emphasized.
In light of @iaeaorg BoG resolution on the #Iranian regime's misconduct and failure to cooperate with the @UN watchdog, it's crucial to revisit over 3 decades of secretive activities and the NCRI's constant efforts to prevent a nuclear-armed pariah state.https://t.co/EiJenAsaiU https://t.co/lvD6qbumiY pic.twitter.com/qcXZLwOPO7

Jafarzadeh also announced an upcoming rally on March 8, 2025, in Washington, D.C. Thousands of Iranians and American supporters will march from the U.S. Capitol to the White House, calling for a stronger U.S. stance against Tehran’s regime. The event will advocate for Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan, which envisions a secular, democratic, and non-nuclear Iran with gender equality, freedom of speech, and a market economy.
“Dictators seem invincible—until they’re not. Syria’s collapse showed how quickly regimes can fall. Iran is next,” Jafarzadeh concluded, urging U.S. lawmakers and the public to stand in solidarity with the Iranian people. He stressed that a free Iran would not only bring stability to the Middle East but also contribute to global security.
As the international community weighs its options, Jafarzadeh’s call for firm action against Iran’s nuclear ambitions and support for the Resistance adds urgency to an already volatile geopolitical issue. Whether the West heeds his warning remains to be seen.
