Paris, France – On June 29, 2024, the Free Iran 2024 World Summit gathered over 500 influential figures, including lawmakers, former presidents, prime ministers, and senior officials from the US, Europe, and the Middle East.

Key speakers included Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), former US Vice President Mike Pence, former UK Foreign Minister Liz Truss, former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and former US National Security Advisor John Bolton. Simultaneously, tens of thousands of Iranians convened in Berlin, voicing their support for the Democratic Republic of Iran and Mrs. Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan.

Maryam Rajavi’s Call for Change

Maryam Rajavi’s address highlighted the resilience of the Iranian Resistance and the regime’s increasing desperation. She warned against appeasement towards the regime, predicting it would lead to more bloodshed and ultimately be futile in protecting Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei from downfall.

Rajavi criticized the recent elections in Iran, labeling them a sham and emphasizing the people’s call for revolution over electoral participation. She stressed that the incoming president would continue Khamenei’s policies, reiterating that reform within the current regime is impossible.

The summit underscored the Iranian regime’s threats both domestically and globally. Stephen Harper argued that supporting Iranians seeking regime change is the path to peace, describing the current regime as more brutal and corrupt than the Shah’s in 1978.

Guy Verhofstadt highlighted the regime’s repression, particularly of women, and its pursuit of nuclear capabilities. He emphasized the regime’s support for terrorism in the Middle East. Linda Chavez pointed to Iran’s provision of drones to Russia, which are used against Ukrainian civilians, and its disruption of global shipping lines through support for the Houthis.

John Bolton warned that Iran’s threats extend beyond the Middle East, targeting Europe and the United States with assassination and intimidation campaigns.

Support for Iranian Resistance

Support for the NCRI and PMOI was a recurring theme. Mike Pence dismissed the regime’s claim of having no viable opposition, asserting the NCRI as a well-organized and popular alternative. Mike Pompeo expressed confidence that regime change in Iran is imminent.

David Jones and John Bercow of the UK highlighted the need for democratic change driven by the Iranian people, with Jones praising the NCRI’s organized resistance and Bercow endorsing its comprehensive policy platform.

The summit exposed the regime’s systematic efforts to undermine the opposition through propaganda and repression. Ingrid Betancourt detailed how the regime disseminates false information about the NCRI and the MEK, emphasizing the importance of international support for the Iranian Resistance. Baroness O’Loan noted that the regime’s attacks against Rajavi and the NCRI validate their effectiveness and legitimacy.

A Unified Front Against Tyranny

The Free Iran 2024 World Summit showcased robust international solidarity with the Iranian people’s quest for democracy and freedom. Despite efforts by the Iranian regime to thwart the event, the strong turnout and passionate discussions underscored a united front against tyranny and in favor of a democratic future for Iran.
