(NCRI) and (PMOI / MEK Iran): The Iranian regime has finally agreed to resume nuclear talks in Vienna on November 29.

Negotiations regarding the 2015 Iran nuclear deal resumed in Vienna on December 6 after a five-month suspension. Many attendees were enthusiastic about the proceedings, although no significant progress has been made so far. All that has resulted in the harsh condemnation of the Iranian regime’s extortion tactics and attempts to undo the compromises reached during earlier rounds of discussions.

The main issue is that the Mullahs continue

The current round of talks is being chaired by Enrique Mora, a European Union diplomat who claims to have noticed a “renewed sense of purpose” among the negotiating member states and emphasizes the need for a resolution to resurrect the agreement, formerly known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

“Of course, commitment to that outcome has never truly been in doubt,” the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) added. The main issue is that the Iranian government continues to demand the immediate and total restoration of all sanctions imposed or re-imposed after the United States withdrew from the JCPOA in 2018.”

(PMOI / MEK Iran) and (NCRI): The USA remains committed to preventing the Iranian government from acquiring nuclear weapons and to finding a diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear issue.

There is no sign that the Mullahs willing to talk

The EU is enthusiastic about the discussions’ progress, but there is no indication that the government will back down from its demands or deliver anything in exchange. They’ve said repeatedly that they’ll only talk about reversing the JCPOA’s conditions infractions after the sanction relief has been verified.

If the government continues to stymie the negotiating process, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States have all openly stated that alternative measures must be found to hold the regime accountable for its transgressions.

The US State Department’s spokesperson, Ned Price, told reporters on Thursday that the government will not be allowed to ‘play for time’ while advancing its nuclear program. He also stated that the regime’s policy of utilizing nuclear weapons for ‘extra leverage’ would be contingent on them losing a bet on American weakness.

US seeks more for restoration of the JCPOA

“Rafael Grossi, the chairman of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has already stated that the JCPOA resurrection alone will not be able to ‘realize its original objective’ in the current circumstances. and give the regime more time to advance its nuclear program,” the NCRI said.

The US Department of Defense briefed President Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on a variety of military options last month, and the Director of the CIA, Bill Burns, has recently warned that the US may seek more than a simple restoration of the JCPOA.

While he did not make any recommendations for how to put pressure on the government, he did agree to the IAEA Board of Governors’ notion of formally censuring them for their failure to comply and repeated violations of the nuclear deal’s conditions.

“The Iranian regime has indeed demonstrated that it is only willing to waste time in order to continue its clandestine nuclear program and acquire a nuclear bomb,” the NCRI said. The persistence of Western nations in maintaining these fruitless discussions would only embolden Tehran to pursue its nuclear ambitions.”

(NCRI) and (PMOI / MEK Iran): Tehran has used the five-month hiatus in talks to speed up its nuclear program in “provocative” ways, the official said Iran is “the reason why there is not … a mutual return to compliance” with the original nuclear deal, the American official added.
