The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran) reported, from Iran indicate there have been more protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran) have reported multiple protests across Iran between Friday and Tuesday, most of which centred on the regime’s economic mismanagement or the people’s poor living conditions and job insecurity. Here, we will look at some of the biggest.

Tuesday, December 22

Employees at Dehdasht Petrochemical complex protested outside the company’s office over long-delayed wages.

Contract workers in the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone at Khomeini port in Mahshahr protested for the second day in a row over officials’ failure to implement the labour system’s legal approvals that would improve working conditions.

Monday, December 21

Female workers at Sofaireh waste site company protested outside the Ahvaz municipality, in Khuzestan, over the site’s closure. 120 workers at the Sufireh village site are now unemployed and without insurance

They demanded that their employment be reinstated, their wages be paid, and their insurance updated.

Bus drivers in Urmia, West Azerbaijan province, went on strike for the third day in a row over the municipality’s failure to pay their insurance at a time when their income has already dropped because of the coronavirus outbreak and they’ve not had support from other institutions.

Residents of Qaleh Chenan village in Ahvaz held a second rally outside the Khuzestan Governor’s Office and the Steel Industries Complex to protest a lack of suitable job for locals and the hiring of non-locals at the steel complex.

Sunday, December 20

Contract teachers protested outside the Yazd governorate, in Yazd province, for the second day in a row to demand proper implementation of policy, payment in full for the missing wages from the previous and current academic year, and permanent contracts.

Saturday, December 19

Municipality workers in Seydun District, Khuzestan Province, protested for the third day in a row to demand their delayed salaries.

Khuzestan Water and Sewerage Company employees protested outside the company’s Ahvaz headquarters over delayed wages and undetermined job status.

Gardeners in East Isfahan protested outside the Isfahan Governor’s Office over the demolition of their gardens.

Friday, December 18

Residents of Chenar Mahmoudi village, in Charmahal Bakhtiari province, protested the regime’s failure to address the HIV infections there, which were caused by health ministry employees in October 2019.

The employees reused syringes when doing blood tests, which resulted in HIV transmission and the infection of 300 inhabitants. Some may not even now they are infected, which means that virus has now spread to neighbouring villages.
