In recent days, Iran has witnessed a surge in protests across multiple regions, reflecting the nation’s deep-seated socio-economic and political issues.
In Isfahan, central Iran, farmers have continued their protest rallies at Khorasgan Square. Facing severe water shortages, they demand immediate action from the government, which has so far ignored their pleas. In Shiraz, located in southern Iran, nurses at the Amir Oncology Center organized a protest rally, expressing their frustration over the regime’s failure to address their needs and demands. Meanwhile, workers at the South Pars Gas refineries in Asaluyeh have resumed their protests, calling for a review of job classifications, management practices, and improvements in working conditions.
Another significant protest took place in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, where residents gathered on August 7 to oppose a decree that transferred the northern Dena protected area to Isfahan province. Citizens rallied in front of the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Environmental Protection Agency in Yasuj, voicing their strong disapproval of this decision.

Further protests erupted across the country, including in Khorasan Razavi, where residents of Zeinabad, Bajestan, demanded their water rights in front of the local Agricultural Jihad office. In Sabzevar, housing applicants held a rally in front of the Sabzevar governorate. Additionally, workers at a steel and iron complex in Qeshm went on strike, protesting disrespect from the production manager and low wages.
Medical staff from Fasa University of Medical Sciences also held a protest rally. On August 6, these prisoners staged a sit-in, which led to a violent crackdown by prison guards. Several women were injured and required medical attention, further exacerbating the prisoners’ families’ distress.

Political unrest has also extended to Evin Prison, where female political prisoners protested the execution of Reza Rasaei, a political detainee from the 2021 uprising.
These widespread protests and the regime’s harsh response underscore the growing frustration and anger among the Iranian people, potentially setting the stage for further unrest.
