In a recent letter to Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, the clerical regime’s newly elected president Masoud Pezeshkian assured continued support for Hezbollah and other militia groups in the region.

This reaffirmation of support highlights the regime’s ongoing fortitude to its established foreign policy, which has long involved backing groups designated as terrorist organizations by much of the international community.

Pezeshkian’s message came in response to a congratulatory note from Nasrallah, who hailed the steadfast backing of all Iranian administrations for the foreign proxy groups. Pezeshkian emphasized that the support for “the Resistance” is deeply rooted in the regime’s agenda.“The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported the resistance of the people in the region against the illegitimate Zionist regime,” Pezeshkian wrote. He underscored that this support is based on the “fundamental policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran” and will “continue with strength.”

This declaration comes amidst ongoing scrutiny and criticism from the international community. Hezbollah is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, and the European Union has also classified its military wing as such. Pezeshkian’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening these ties indicates that Tehran’s foreign policy stance will not shift under his leadership.

Iran’s regime has a longstanding history of supporting various terrorist organizations across the globe, which has significantly contributed to regional instability and conflict. This support includes financial, military, and logistical aid to groups like Hezbollah, which operates extensively in Lebanon and has been involved in numerous conflicts and acts of terrorism.
