In an emblematic assembly at Auvers-sur-Oise on the eve of Ramadan, March 16, prominent figures across the political and cultural spectrum congregated to address the escalating concerns tied to Iran’s ruling regime.

The conference, led by Iranian opposition President-elect Maryam Rajavi of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), witnessed an unprecedented gathering of political dignitaries, parliament representatives from Islamic and Arab nations, and leaders from various sectors—all unified in their critique of Iran’s current leadership and its adverse effects on regional peace.

Under the theme of fostering unity and peace in the Middle East, discussions highlighted the Iranian regime’s role in perpetuating conflict and atrocities. The call for regime change was underscored as a necessary step towards stabilizing the region. Riad Yassin, the Yemeni Ambassador to France, and other speakers, including notable figures from Jordan, Tunisia, and France, emphasized the urgency of addressing the regime’s destructive policies.

Maryam Rajavi’s keynote speech was a focal point of the evening. She delineated the Iranian regime’s detrimental impact on the Middle East, criticizing its distortion of Islamic principles and its involvement in exporting terrorism. Rajavi commended the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK) for its advocacy of a democratic and authentic Islam, standing in stark contrast to the regime’s oppressive policies. “Our commitment to women’s rights and a progressive interpretation of Islam sets us apart from the reactionary beliefs of Iran’s current rulers,” Rajavi stated.

Ahmad Kamel highlighted the regime’s manipulation of the Palestinian cause for its own benefit, stressing the need for global support to mitigate the regime’s negative influence. In line with the evening’s theme, speakers from across the spectrum shared their insights on the imperative of unity against the regime’s atrocities.
