The Iranian Resistance is witnessing a significant increase in its activities as the country grapples with a series of internal regime crises.

The 2022 uprising has destabilized the delicate equilibrium between the Iranian society and the ruling regime, pushing Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei towards restoring, or at least projecting, a semblance of stability.

In an attempt to instill fear and quash dissent, the regime has resorted to severe measures, including the execution and targeted killings of political prisoners. Arbitrary arrests and sham trials have further exacerbated tensions across the country. Moreover, the regime has allegedly initiated chemical attacks on girls’ schools, seeking to intimidate those at the forefront of the uprising.

To deflect attention from its domestic issues, the regime has initiated international maneuvers. It has publicized the potential normalization of relations with neighboring nations, with top-ranking officials promising increased economic activities during foreign trips. Yet, experts express skepticism           about potential benefits due to the regime’s fundamentalist nature, historical track record of terrorism, and aggressive stance.

Despite the regime’s repression, the Iranian Resistance is intensifying its activities. The Resistance Units maintain their audacious operations, even in the face of extensive crackdowns and executions. The resistance’s cause has received global support, with 111 world leaders signing a solidarity letter, while its leader Maryam Rajavi’s meeting in the European Parliament has raised international awareness and won further support. Also, a Congressional Hearing in the US House of Representatives has facilitated direct engagement between policymakers and resistance representatives.

Several legislative bodies worldwide, including Scotland, Iceland, Northern Ireland, Slovenia, Geneva, and Wales, have publicly expressed their support for the resistance. Recognized as a legitimate force advocating for democracy and human rights in Iran, the resistance’s standing is fortified by this international endorsement, underscoring that transformative change should originate from within Iran.

The regime, meanwhile, is unable to veil the multiple crises it confronts internally. High-profile dismissals, including that of Ali Shamkhani, a top security official, and three ministers from Ebrahim Raisi’s administration, underscore the internal turmoil. The conflict between the Parliament and the Raisi administration exemplifies the deep-seated problems the regime faces. Soaring inflation and prices pose a substantial threat to the nation’s impoverished population, potentially inciting another uprising.

In conclusion, Khamenei's regime appears more fragile than ever following the 2022 uprising. Struggling to maintain an increasingly divided regime, Khamenei is desperately trying to suppress a volatile society and intimidate the international community with acts of terror.
