People from various backgrounds and regions in Iran participated in protest rallies on Saturday, responding to a new wave of executions carried out by the Iranian government.

Demonstrations were held by farmers in Markazi Province, students at Tehran’s Khajeh Nasir Toosi University, and workers at a natural gas site in Isfahan Province, among others.

As Iran’s nationwide uprising reaches its 234th day, protestors hold Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei responsible for their suffering and condemn the oppressive Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and paramilitary Basij units, along with other security forces suppressing peaceful demonstrators.

Protests have expanded to at least 282 cities, resulting in over 750 deaths and 30,000 arrests by regime forces, according to sources from the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The MEK has published the names of 675 killed protesters.

In response to the growing unrest, the mullahs’ dictatorship ruling Iran has engaged in a new wave of mass executions. From April 29 to May 5, at least 44 inmates were executed, including 23 members of Iran’s Baluchi community. Sixteen of these executions occurred on May 4th alone. The international community is being urged to take action against the regime’s decades-long crimes against humanity.

Members of the Iranian opposition MEK Resistance Units have initiated a new campaign of anti-regime measures in cities across the country, promoting the slogan “Down with oppressors, be it the Shah or [Khamenei]!” Actions have taken place in Tehran, Karaj, Shiraz, Shahr-e Babak, Rasht, Zanjan, Hamadan, Kermanshah, Shadegan, Langarud, Gonbad-e Kavus, and Kish.

Pensioners and retirees of the regime’s Social Security Organization in Shush, Arak, Ardabil, and Kermanshah are protesting high prices, poverty, corruption, inflation, poor living conditions, and the government’s refusal to address their demands. The regime has consistently failed to increase pensions in line with inflation and currency depreciation or settle unpaid pensions from previous years.

On Sunday, a chemical gas attack targeted the all-girls Chamran Technical School in Shahrekord, southwest Iran, leaving several students poisoned and in need of medical attention. This follows a similar attack on Saturday in Marivan, Kurdistan province, where two all-girls schools were targeted.

Medical personnel in Qazvin and emergency medical teams in Tabriz are also protesting, demanding delayed pensions and improved living conditions.Anti-regime chants, such as “Down with Khamenei!”, were heard on Saturday night in Tehran’s Shahrak-e Bagheri district.

Protests have also emerged in Markazi province over water access, in Isfahan province over unmet demands of orchard owners, and at Tehran’s Khajeh Nasir Toosi University over unanswered student demands.Labor protests and strikes continued on Saturday in Isfahan and Zanjan provinces, with workers demanding payment of delayed wages and joining nationwide strikes.
