In a message marking International Workers’ Day, a group of political prisoners incarcerated in Gohardasht Prison of Karaj, located west of the Iranian capital Tehran, have called on the Iranian people to unite against the country’s oppressive regime.

The letter comes amidst ongoing protests and a week-long strike by workers in various sectors and cities across the country. The prisoners, who are facing threats and intimidation, praised the hardworking laborers of Iran and highlighted the oppressive discrimination they have faced under the mullahs’ regime. They also emphasized that despite Iran’s abundant wealth, the regime has used the country’s resources to fund warmongering outside its borders and to silence the voice of Iranian workers and people.

They also called out the regime’s agents, operatives, lobbyists, and apologists who are promoting so-called “anti-violent” campaigns and attempting to downgrade the people’s demands to focus merely on women’s hijab and the regime holding a referendum to claim legitimacy.

The political prisoners highlighted the regime’s track record of incarcerating workers who have protested for their rights under false accusations.

However, the prisoners praised the heroic people of Iran who have thwarted these malignant campaigns with their vigilance and slogans that target the very essence of the mullahs’ regime. They called on all Iranians to join the protesting workers in supporting the country’s ongoing uprising and to unite to overthrow the religious fascism ruling Iran

The letter from these brave political prisoners highlights the ongoing struggles of Iranian workers and their allies against the country’s oppressive regime. The protests and strikes in recent months demonstrate the growing discontent of Iranians with their government’s policies and actions. As the country marks International Workers’ Day, the prisoners’ call for unity against the oppressive regime serves as a reminder of the power of collective action and the importance of standing up for human rights and dignity.

The message concludes with the political prisoners congratulating all hardworking Iranians on International Workers’ Day and vowing to hold their ground and stand firm on their positions until the day of Iran’s freedom from the yoke of its oppressors.

In the words of the political prisoners themselves, “Wherever we are (whether in prison or on the streets), we must unite and become each other’s allies to overthrow the religious fascism ruling Iran. This is the only solution and only way to save the Iranian people.”
