Nationwide uprising in Iran: Teachers, workers, and retirees protest economic woes

Iran’s nationwide uprising reached its 195th day on Wednesday, as teachers across the country took to the streets on Tuesday to protest poor economic conditions, low pay, and inadequate working conditions.
The protesting teachers also demanded the release of their unjustly jailed colleagues. Meanwhile, locals in Tehran’s Shahrak-e Bagheri district and workers of the Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Company in the city of Shush, Khuzestan Province, held separate rallies against the regime.
The MEK Resistance Units also launched marches in recent days, chanting anti-regime slogans in several cities, including Tehran, Mashhad, Shiraz, Shahrekord, and Kashan. The protesters specifically held the mullahs’ Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei responsible for their miseries, while condemning the oppressive Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and paramilitary Basij units.

Protests have now spread to at least 282 cities in Iran, and the regime’s forces have killed over 750 people, while more than 30,000 have been arrested, according to sources from the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The names of 675 killed protesters have been published by the MEK.
On Tuesday morning, retirees and pensioners of the regime’s Social Security Organization in Ahvaz, southwest Iran, rallied to protest high prices, inflation, low pensions, and other economic woes. Similar protests were held in Ahvaz, the provincial capital of Khuzestan. The Social Security Investment Company (SHASTA), the financial institution that is supposed to fund retirees, has seen a significant increase in profits in the past years. However, these profits have yet to materialize in the lives of pensioners and retirees.

What is the answer to a regime that will stop at nothing to evade being overthrown?
The answer lies in the organized protests, demonstrations, and uprisings, led by the Resistance Units, and the Iranian people’s great Army of Freedom.
