Iran’s nationwide uprising entered its 153rd day on Wednesday as more people from different walks of life took to the streets to hold protest rallies over various dilemmas across the board.

Protesters are holding the mullahs’ Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei directly responsible for their miseries, while also condemning the oppressive Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and paramilitary Basij units, alongside other security units that are on the ground suppressing the peaceful demonstrators.

According to sources of the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK), protests in Iran have expanded to at least 282 cities. Over 750 people have been killed, and more than 30,000 are arrested by the regime’s forces. The names of 647 killed protesters have been published by the MEK.

Locals in the Mohammad Shahr district of Karaj, a major city located west of the capital Tehran, attacked one of the regime’s IRGC paramilitary Basij sites, targeting the group loathed across the country for their direct roles in the ongoing crackdown against the Iranian people, especially during the Iran revolution protests.

Workers of the Iran Shipbuilding & Offshore Industries Complex in Bandar Abbas, a major port city in southern Iran, held a gathering on Wednesday and protested mismanagement, delayed paychecks, and other problems regarding their working and pay conditions.

Retirees and pensioners in the city of Tehran rallied on the same day, protesting low pensions, and poor insurance plans, and seeking adjustments based on skyrocketing prices and increasing inflation.

People in the city of Eslamabad-e-Gharb of Kermanshah Province also held a gathering and protested the local officials’ hollow promises of providing real estate.

Protests have also erupted in other cities, including Mashhad, where locals set up roadblocks with fires while chanting slogans like “Death to the dictator!” and “This is the year Seyed Ali (Khamenei) is overthrown!” Meanwhile, in Dehloran of Ilam Province, western Iran, activists reported that members of the regime security forces opened fire on protesters seeking to start anti-regime protests and demolish an IRGC paramilitary Basij statue, injuring two protesters and two security forces.

Iranian opposition President-elect Maryam Rajavi of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), condemned the ongoing crisis, stating: “Female students’ chain poisoning in Qom for over three months, and now in Tehran, is no accident but a systematic crime driven by a misogynistic regime’s malicious intent. The young Iranian women’s role in the uprising has doubled the regime’s hysteria. Urging an international investigation,” she tweeted.

The protests are ongoing despite extremely cold winter conditions, and people are continuing to demand answers from the regime on their various grievances. The Iranian regime’s violent response to peaceful demonstrations has drawn widespread condemnation, with activists calling for the international community to take action to support the Iranian people.
