On the anniversary of the anti-monarchy revolution and the overthrow of Shah’s dictatorship in 1979 and simultaneous with the state ceremony, the Resistance Units paraded in Tehran, Tabriz, Khorramshahr, Shahroud, Khorramabad, Meshginshahr, and Shahryar despite a heavy presence of a large number of suppressive forces and plainclothes agents in the streets.

They chanted slogans such as: “This year, is a year of sacrifice, Seyyed Ali (Khamenei) will be overthrown,” “Democracy, freedom, with Maryam Rajavi,” “Death to Khamenei, Long live Rajavi,” “Death to the dictator,” “The only way to freedom is the way of the MEK,” “Let the world know that Massoud Rajavi is our leader,” “The final word is down with the regime,” “We pledge to the blood of our comrades – we will stand until the end,” “We are all warriors, men, and women, will fight to the end,” “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Leader (Khamenei),” “No to monarchy, no clerical rule, we want democracy is equality,” “Poverty, corruption, high prices, we will march to overthrow,” and “we wrote with our blood, we are for the people.”

The rebel groups in Tabriz chanted in Turkish, “No to Shah, no to clergy, we are for people” and “Long live Rajavi.”
