The Parliamentary Committee for a Democratic Iran (CPID) in the French National Assembly held a conference on Tuesday to address the current situation in Iran. The conference was attended by French MPs and prominent politicians who expressed their full support for the Iranian people’s uprising and the Organization Resistance movement.

The keynote speaker of the event was Iranian opposition President-elect Maryam Rajavi of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). Mrs. Rajavi delivered a powerful message to the conference, saying that the Iranian people will continue to surprise the world and sweep away all the propaganda and myths about the regime’s stability and power. She rejected the false claims that the Iranian uprising has diminished and that the Iranian people want a return to the deposed Pahlavi dictatorship. Instead, she emphasized that the Iranian people have made it clear in their slogans that they are determined to overthrow the mullahs’ dictatorship and build a new Iran that looks to the future.

Mrs. Rajavi also urged the French government and parliamentarians to not give in to the regime’s blackmail and to prioritize the terrorist designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) by the European Union. She argued that failing to do so will only allow the mullahs’ killing and war machines to continue to operate.

The session was presided over by MP Cécile Rilhac, from the Renaissance party and the chairwoman of the CPID. Mrs. Rilhac expressed her support for the Iranian people’s search for democracy and freedom and praised Mrs. Rajavi’s ten-point plan for the future of Iran, which defends democratic values such as free elections.

Other speakers at the conference included MP Hervé Saulignac from the Socialist Party of France, MP André Chassaigne, the CPID VP and the Communist Group President in the National Assembly, and Mr. Phillip Gosselin, MP from the Republican party. All of these speakers praised the role of the Iranian Resistance as the trailblazer of the ongoing uprising in Iran and condemned the regime’s repression of protests and the destructive role of the IRGC.

In conclusion, the conference provided a platform for French politicians to express their support for the Iranian people’s struggle for democracy and freedom, and to call on the French government to take a more active role in supporting the Iranian Resistance and holding the regime accountable for its crimes. The conference was a powerful reminder of the importance of international solidarity in the face of oppression and tyranny and a sign that the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and democracy will not be forgotten or ignored.
