“Death to Khamenei! Hail to Rajavi!” slogans broadcast in crowded areas of numerous cities across Iran

Resistance Units, a growing network of brave and resilient Iranians affiliated with the opposition People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK), are ramping up their ongoing campaign of measures aimed at weakening the regime’s crackdown across the country, now in Rasht, Mashhad, Vanguard, and Neyshabur. Anti-regime slogans were broadcast in public in Rasht, one of the country’s most populous Northern cities, at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, followed by excerpts from speeches given by Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian opposition coalition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

Anti-regime slogans were aired in Mashhad’s famous Behesht-e Reza Cemetery at 1:45 p.m. local time on April 15. Mashhad is Iran’s second-largest city, located in the country’s northeast.“Death to Khamenei-Raisi!” refers to regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and current regime President Ebrahim Raisi.

“Khomeini be damned!” referring to the regime’s first supreme leader Ruhollah Khomeini.“Hail to Rajavi!”

On April 9, residents in the northern Iranian city of Langarud witnessed anti-regime slogans and excerpts from speeches by Iranian Resistance leaders being aired in public.“Death to Khamenei!”Hail to Rajavi!” “We don’t want a shah or the mullahs!”

Anti-regime slogans were aired in public in Neyshabur, another city in northeast Iran, on April 7, at a busy local market with many people present. Following the slogans were excerpts from speeches given by Iranian Resistance leaders.

Locals in the northern Iranian city of Lahijan witnessed anti-regime slogans being aired in public on March 15:

The MEK’s anti-crackdown campaign, which began on January 27 with the disruption of numerous state TV and radio networks and continued with Resistance Units seizing control of loudspeakers to blast anti-regime slogans in public, are clearly linked. And the trend is continuing right now.

On February 9, the Intelligence Ministry displayed a blindfolded man claiming responsibility for the broadcasting of anti-regime slogans in Mashhad’s famous Bazaar Reza. Despite a propaganda campaign aimed at instilling fear, the Iranian people and their organized resistance continue to engage in these activities.

Even with an increasing number of executions and oppressive measures, as well as unbearable economic pressures, the mullahs’ regime has been unable to plunge the Iranian nation into the miseries of poverty and hopelessness.

Every episode of anti-regime slogans broadcast in public places across the country serves as a reminder to the regime of the Iranian people’s unwavering refusal to submit to the regime’s crackdown. The persistence of such activities in virtually every corner of the country over the past few months demonstrates that the Resistance Units’ work is supported by the vast majority of Iran’s society.

This is precisely why the regime’s own experts have expressed a number of reservations in this regard. “Let there be no doubt that if the status quo continues, if we don’t see society exploding this (Iranian calendar year), we will most certainly see the nation’s impoverished pouring into the streets next year,” according to one such expert, whose comments were published on March 9 in the state-run Arman daily.
