The German government condemned the Revolutionary Guards’ missile attacks on Erbil in a statement released on Sunday. The German Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Berlin will continue to support Iraqi sovereignty, unity, and stability, as well as the war against ISIS. Attacks against diplomatic workers, envoys, and installations belonging to the global coalition fighting ISIS were “unacceptable,” according to the ministry, which added that culprits must be held accountable.

Iran’s missile strikes on Erbil prompted US Republican Senator Marco Rubio to tweet that Tehran’s action is aimed at hastening the US military and diplomatic withdrawal from Iraq.

Republican Senator Jim Risch slammed US President Biden’s response to the Revolutionary Guards missile attack on Erbil in an interview with Fox News, saying, “The Islamic Republic appears to have done what it wanted because it attacked the US facility in Iraq, and now the US Deputy Secretary of State Sherman says we need to sign an agreement with Iran as soon as possible.”
