Maryam Rajavi stressed in her speech that the “Ukrainian people’s resistance is an epic in preserving their country’s honor and survival, as well as a turning moment in restoring the culture of unwavering resistance in today’s globe.

On Saturday, March 5, on the eve of International Women’s Day, at an international conference themed “Women Force for Change in Iran, Global Peace, and Stability.” Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of Iran’s National Council of Resistance (NCRI), expressed her wholehearted greetings to the proud people of Ukraine, particularly the brave women of that country, adding, “Let us call International Women’s Day this year, the day of resistance by the women of Ukraine.” And for one minute, let us get up and applaud them.

The Women’s Gathering of the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK), in Ashraf-3, Albania, took part in the large conference in Berlin through the internet. The meeting drew almost 170 political figures from 37 countries.

Mrs. Rajavi stressed in her speech that the “Ukrainian people’s resistance is an epic in preserving their country’s honor and survival, as well as a turning moment in restoring the culture of unwavering resistance in today’s globe.” They took a stand against the West’s complacency and inaction. They stood up and inspired the rest of the world to rally behind them. She stated, “Their people and military have remained steady as steel.”

Mrs. Rajavi added, “This is the real image of Iranian women.” She was referring to the presence and pivotal role of Iranian women and girls in protests and uprisings of teachers and farmers in Isfahan, as well as the anti-repression activities of women and girls as Resistance Units, meant to spread protests. Her scream isn’t one of despair and despondency. Rather, it is a rallying cry to end captivity’s status quo, a call to create a future that we can and must achieve. Her cry has passed through the torture chambers, battlefields, corridors, and halls where the 1988 massacre occurred. During 150 years of Iranian women’s struggle against oppression, retrogression, and misogyny, her cry has grown more powerful.”

“Women and girls in Iran are the principal victims of the misogynist machine,” Helle Thorning Schmidt, former Danish Prime Minister, declared in favor of the NCRI and its President-elect, Maryam Rajavi. Women in Iran have refused to surrender to the dictatorship… This participation is unique, not only in Iran but in the whole world.” “It is notable that the NCRI is run by a Muslim woman, Maryam Rajavi,” she said. Her ten-point plan is a blueprint for the whole world to see that there is a democratic future for Iran. This initiative should be supported by all democratic governments across the world.”

“A lot of women fight for their freedom even if they have to lay down their lives for a better Iran,” former German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer remarked. Maryam Rajavi, for example, has outlined a vision for an Iran free of prejudice, where men and women are treated equally, and where fanaticism and terrorism are not tolerated.”

“The women of the world lead the resistance for freedom across the world, whether it’s in Kurdistan, Ukraine, or Iran,” Frances Townsend, former Homeland Security Advisor to the US President, remarked. I’m humbled by the fortitude of Iranian women who fight for choice and freedom, whether it’s for freedom of expression or the overthrow of Iran’s misogynist dictatorship.”

“Today, the MEK is recognized and respected throughout the world,” said Ingrid Betancourt, a former senator and presidential contender in Colombia. It is in the vanguard of the fight for equality between men and women. Maryam Rajavi shed light on the lives of millions of Iranian women who had been silenced and gagged. We’re talking about a new generation of women who are taking the lead in the fight for independence. Protests against the regime have largely been led by women,” she explained.

“Protests against the regime have largely been led by women… It is past time for the international community to come together and act. We demand that the United Nations Security Council, the US government, and European nations abandon their policy of appeasement toward Iran’s regime. In the case of Iran, the world must abandon its humiliating strategy of negotiating a nuclear deal with the dictatorship. It’s past time for us to unite ourselves with the masses. The world owes it to the Iranian Resistance and the MEK to support them.”
