MEK Iran: Sham Election – NO. 2
The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), reported that thousands of polling stations in Tehran and various cities across Iran indicate a widespread boycott of the sham election by the people.
Polling stations are completely empty
MEK supporters from different parts of the country reported that many polling stations are completely empty or with few visitors.
Tehran repressive forces intimidating
MEK supporters from the city of Tehran reported that at Kharazmi School, Ferdowsi Square, and Razi Educational Center; polling stations were empty.
The repressive forces in the city of Tehran are busy intimidating the public to create an atmosphere of fear and to prevent any filming of polling stations. Anyone filming in Tehran risks arrest.
The IRGC, Basij, and Special Forces deployed across Tehran
The State Security Force, paramilitary Basij, and plainclothes police are heavily present in and around Enghelab Avenue, the Ministry of Interior, and the airport.
The IRGC units, Basij, and Special Forces deployed to a disaffected suburb of Tehran, Eslamshahr, during the night and early this morning, establishing checkpoints in the city’s various squares.
The repressive SSF heavily reinforced in Tehran
The repressive SSF and the paramilitary Basij force, have been heavily reinforced on the sham election day by the IRGC who has deployed the Mohammad Rasoul-Allah corps to Tehran, and the Seyedol Shohada corps to provincial centers. These two military formations are under the command of the Tharallah headquarters and the IRGC Intelligence Organization.
The city of Tabriz, Garmsar, and Bandar Gaz
MEK supporters from the city of Tabriz reported that at, Taleghani and Nesfe Rah stations; were empty. In Tabriz, a high-security environment has been created since early morning.
MEK supporters from the city of Garmsar reported that the Bank Melli, Bank Refah Kargaran, and Razavi High School stations; were empty.
MEK supporters from the city of Bandar Gaz reported that the Forestry polling station was empty.
The cities of Karaj, Isfahan, Mehrshahr
MEK supporters from the city of Karaj reported that at, Sadoughi School and Gholami School; polling stations were empty.
MEK supporters from the city of Isfahan reported that polling stations in Al-Mahdi mosque, Sahib al-Zaman mosque, and Saed High School; were empty.
MEK supporters from the city of Mehrshahr reported that polling stations in Sahib al-Zaman mosque and Jame Hossein Abad mosque; were empty.
The repressive in Gilan province
The deputy commander of Gilan Province’s State Security Force (SSF) yesterday announced the arrest of 27 citizens on dubious charges of “undermining the integrity of the election.”
The state-run ISNA news agency also announced repressive actions aimed at closing businesses, with the closure of at least 155 business units, warnings to 5,073 businesses, orders to close for 1,073 businesses, and warnings to 1,371 businesses in Gilan Province alone.
