Iranian people welcome for Iranian Resistance calls to boycott the regime’s presidential election farce has prompted the Iranian regime to intensify a flurry of political detentions of families, supporters, and former political prisoners of the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), in various cities, in fear of a popular uprising.
Those arrested include Milad Yazadan-Nejad, 26, from Tehran; Molud Safaei, whose sister Zahra Safaei is being held in Qarchak Prison in Varamin; and Payam Shakiba, 38, from Tehran, who had previously been arrested in 2015 for supporting the MEK and was released from prison last February.

In the June 12 statement of the Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the names and details of those arrested have been sent to United Nations bodies and relevant rapporteurs, and other international human rights organizations.
Many reports from various cities indicate a desperate security mobilization by the clerical regime to counter any protest rallies during the sham presidential election.
The repressive force on full alert for four days
The repressive State Security Force (SSF) in Tehran and other cities are on full alert for four days to control the election show from June 17, 2021. The mullah regime’s repressive “Modavemat” (persistence) forces have also been deployed to patrol neighborhoods and reinforce the SSF to intimidate the public. Additional repressive reserves called the “Second Combat Organization” have also been deployed with new equipment.
Urgent call to the United Nations
The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), urge the United Nations to send an international delegation to monitor the situation in the regime’s sham election.
