The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), reported that a prisoner in Urmia prison killed under torture.
Prisoner killed under torture
On Monday, May 17, 2021, Urmia Central Prison guards attacked a prison ward and beat to death one of the prisoners, Amir Rezaei, 35, who had spent 10 years of his 20-year sentence.
The repressive guards threw Amir Rezaei down the stairs from the second floor, and while he was severely injured, dragged him to solitary confinement and continued to beat and torture him. While unconscious because of the beatings, Rezaei was taken to the prison medical center but died an hour later.
despite the signs of torture and beatings on the prisoner’s body are evident, the prison warden and the mullahs regime agents claim that Rezaei died of a drug overdose.
In mullahs, prison killing prisoners under torture is routine and has accelerated during Ebrahim Raisi’s tenure as the Judiciary Chief. The Iranian Resistance reiterates, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), the need for a United Nations fact-finding delegation to visit prisons and meet with prisoners.
