The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), reported that on Sunday Iraqi protesters stormed the Iranian regime’s Consulate in southern Iraqi city of Karbala. This incident happened after the Iranian regime’s proxy groups assassinated a prominent activist, Jawad al-Wazni.
Iran’s terrorism and malign activities
Iran’s terrorism and malign activities had destroyed the lives of Iranians and all the people in the region. It also underlines the fact that the mullahs’ regime is a threat to global peace and security.
Iraq in October 2019, with people protests, swept targeting the Iranian regime’s destructive presence in Iraq. Mullah’s regime has always described Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, particularly Iraq, with its overwhelming Shiite majority, as its strategic depth. Therefore, protests in Iraq are a major blow to the regime’s strategic depth. It is safe to say that After 18 years of trying to occupy Iraq through brutal measures and using terrorist proxy groups, the Iranian regime’s strategic depth is one step away from collapsing.
Protests in Iraq against the mullah regime’s malign activities once again necessitates a global action against the regime’s terrorism which is not limited to the country’s in the Middle East.
The mullahs regime influence on Iraq
After the second Gulf War, the mullah regime used the opportunity to further its influence on Iraq. In recent years it has gradually claimed more power in Iraq and has manipulated the country to spread terrorism. The mullahs’ regime has also used terrorist tactics against Iraq’s coalition forces and citizens as an extortion tool.
The mullahs’ regime has endeavored, through its proxy groups and agents, including the former Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri-al Maliki, to present as though it has the support of all Shi’ite Muslims. The recent uprising of the Iraqi people, in cities where there is a Shi’ite majority in the population, demonstrates that this support is false.
The Iraqi people are protesting the Iranian regime’s use of Shiism to impose a deadly presence in Iraq. The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran) has called for the international community to oppose the Iranian regime’s terrorism in Iraq.
On November 15, 2019, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran) revealed how the Iranian regime’s ambassador to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi, acted as the secret governor of Iraq.
The NCRI and (PMOI / MEK Iran)’s report reads: “It is clear that the Iranian regime’s ambassador to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi, is Khamenei’s secret governor of Iraq. And as a top Quds Force commander, he is clearly the regime’s most important person in Iraq. Together, these positions provide him with both the authority and the diplomatic cover to order his agents to massacre the people of Iraq when their public demonstrations present a challenge to Iran’s influence,”.
This time protests in Iraq against the regime’s meddling are also coinciding with ongoing and intensifying protests in Iran. People from all walks of life stage protests across Iran, chant slogans against the regime’s corruption and wrong policies that have resulted in people’s poverty.
Therefore, as more evidence of the regime’s terrorism come to light, with the popular demand in Iran and other nations suffering from the mullahs’ terrorism, the international community must increase pressure on the regime to end its terrorist activities.
