The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), reported that the protests by retirees and pensioners held across the country, demanding their delayed pensions and higher wages as the inflation rate continues to rise.
The fourth nationwide gathering
In their fourth nationwide gathering in the Persian new year (beginning March 20) against the clerical regime, on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, retirees and pensioners protested against the poor living conditions, low wages, and high prices in Tehran and 22 other cities protested.
The retirees and pensioners also called for a boycott of the upcoming sham presidential election.
Retirees and pensioners living in Tehran marched from the parliament towards the “Planning and Budget Organization”.

The retirees and pensioners chanted: “We share the same problems, join us,” “We will not vote anymore, we have not seen any justice,” and “We will not vote anymore, we have heard enough lies,” “Only by taking to the street we can obtain our rights,” “Our tables are empty, enough of oppression,” “Enough of empty promises, our tables are empty.”

Protests held across the country
In addition to Tehran, retirees held protest rallies in Karaj, Khorramabad, Arak, Mashhad, Ilam, Neyshabur, Kerman, Yazd, Qazvin, Kermanshah, Tabriz, Ahvaz, Bojnurd, Rasht, Behshahr, Shush, Shooshtar, Borujerd, Isfahan, Ardabil, Maku, and Shahroud in front of the Social Security offices.
In most cities, the repressive State Security Force (SSF) surrounded the retirees to prevent others from joining them. They also prevented them from filming and photographing the rallies. In Kerman and Shush, retirees entered the Social Security building and chanted slogans against regime officials.

Defrauded investors protest
In another protest rally in front of Tehran’s Stock Exchange this morning, the defrauded investors protested and chanted “Death to Rouhani” and “We will no longer vote; we have not seen any justice.”
