At the weekend, the Iranian regime and China signed a significant deal that has liquidated a significant portion of Iran’s resources and wealth. It is a 25-year deal that is also going to cost Iran part of the Caspian Sea. It seems like Iran will get a $400 billion investment into a number of sectors in return.
According to recent reports, by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), the finer details of the deal have not been discussed publicly, no doubt because the regime is very aware that it will cause an absolute outrage.
The Iranian regime has made great concessions
What little is known about the deal indicates that the Iranian regime has made great concessions, giving China more than what is fair, going against the national interests of Iran? There have been comparisons between this deal and the Turkmenchay Treaty during which the monarchy at that time gave up a large portion of the northern territories to Russia. Even Iranian officials are drawing such comparisons.
The Iranian government is in a desperate economic situation. Tough economic sanctions have taken a toll on the regime’s ability to fund its exploits abroad, its malign ballistic missile and nuclear programs, and its terrorist activities. The regime relies on these for its survival and it has entered into an agreement that will help with its short-term goals despite it being against national interests.
It appears that China is getting a lot for very little investment
It appears that China is getting a lot for very little investment. To make matters worse, China will be paying with a two-year delay. Furthermore, China will not be paying in dollars – it will be paying in Yuan.
Despite years of appeasement from the West, the Iranian regime was unable to improve the economy through its horrific economic mismanagement. When policies of appeasement were in place, the regime had the perfect opportunity to make major improvements to the economy. But once again the regime decided to shun economic recovery for its short-term malign goals.
Mullahs preserving their own religious fascist dictatorship
The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the main opposition to the Iranian regime, has been warning the international community about the regime’s intentions for many years. Its president-elect, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, spoke about the new China-Iran agreement, saying that the mullahs are only thinking about “preserving their own religious fascist dictatorship” – something that former Supreme Leader Khomeini maintained was the regime’s priority.
Mrs. Rajavi also pointed out that the former Supreme Leader even said that the “precepts of Islam” would be forsaken in order to preserve the regime. She said it is abundantly clear that the regime “could not care less about protecting the Iranian people’s assets and resources”.
The people of Iran are desperate to see the regime collapse
This has been very clear for years and it is one of the reasons why the people of Iran are desperate to see the regime collapse. The ordinary people always have been and always will be the first victims of all of the regime’s bad decisions and they will be the ones that continue to pay for the regime’s mismanagement.
The regime’s system is designed to protect the rich (the regime’s officials and affiliates). And this by consequence means that the system keeps the poor people poor.
