Iran: Mullahs Media Concedes to MEK’s Influence Over Sanctions and Anti-Regime Protests

Iran Sanctions

(NCRI) and (PMOI / MEK Iran): Misusing the coronavirus crisis, the Iranian regime tries to either ease or lift the international economic sanctions.

As cracks in the Iranian regime’s administration continue to show, so does their fear of the growing support for the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran).

Resistance against the regime

The state-run media has even conceded that the MEK has been responsible for extensive actions of organized resistance against the regime, carried out by the Iranian people and the international community.

The Iranian publication, state-run Mardom Salari Daily, discussed in a Sunday editorial piece that the MEK’S exposure of the mullah’s nuclear weapons program in 2002 has had immense repercussions on the regime.

The MEK provided evidence, obtained through extensive networks across Iran and insider connections, revealing information about the Arak heavy water facility and the Natanz uranium enrichment site.

Developing nuclear weapons

The regime is attempting to create nuclear weapons in order to maintain its rule and hold greater international power. The MEK has exposed over 100 pieces of key information regarding undercover sites, officials, and data in relation to the Iranian regime’s nuclear program.

In 2002, the mullahs were attempting to keep their nuclear weapons program a covert operation but upon the MEK’s exposure of the sites, they were investigated by the United Nation’s nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The international community, who usually take the approach of appeasing the regime, had no choice but to take action when the MEK revealed the extent of the nuclear program. The regime has been facing increased international sanctions ever since.

Iran nuclear deal

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is the Iran nuclear deal that was put in place by the United Nations Security Council and the European Union. This was a deal that sanctions would be lifted so long as Iran’s nuclear program was halted.

However, the regime should not be trusted on their word, and have simply gained the resources needed to push forward in their nuclear endeavors. The MEK is committed to continuing its operations to expose the regime and stop them from developing nuclear weapons.

A spokesperson from the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), a division of the MEK, wrote “The Iranian Resistance is proud of having contributed to this outcome. It remains committed to the historic task of preventing an aggressive, virulently sectarian, and repression theocracy from developing weapons of mass destruction and using them to threaten people, the surrounding region, and the world.”

Nationwide uprising

The MEK has also prioritized empowering the people of Iran to free themselves from the oppression of the regime. This was evidenced by their incremental role in organizing the 2018 and 2019 uprisings which took place nation-wide, in which citizens protested for regime change.

“Despite the regime’s demonizing campaign, the mullahs’ action confirms that the (PMOI / MEK Iran) and the (NCRI) are the only viable alternative to Tehran’s genocidal regime. The Iranian Resistance has been proud of its efforts aimed at overthrowing the regime and has pledged to continue this struggle until it topples this medieval regime,” the MEK wrote.
