A Call on EU to end appeasement and reinstate UN Security Council resolutions against the Iranian regime

EU foreign ministers will hold emergency talks on Iran this Friday, January 10, 2019, after the Iranian regime announced it’s next move to virtually leave the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The newly assigned EU’s Foreign Policy chief Josep Borrell voiced regret at the Iranian regime’s announcement on his Twitter account. Mr. Borrell wrote:

“Deeply regret Iran’s latest announcement on #JCPOA. As ever we will rely on @iaeaorg verification. Full implementation of #NuclearDeal by all is now more important than ever, for regional stability & global security.”

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), described the decision by the Iranian regime a practical departure from the nuclear deal. In a statement issued by the secretary of the NCRI, Mrs. Rajavi emphasized that the decision by the Iranian regime not to abide by “restrictions in the number of centrifuges, the capacity, percent, and level of enriched uranium and research and development,” in its nuclear program is “a practical departure from the Iran nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).”

“Mrs. Rajavi underscored the imperative and urgency of activating the trigger mechanism and reinstating six United Nations Security Council resolutions against the regime.” The statement added. She reiterated that Iran’s “anti-human regime used all benefits and concessions from the JCPOA to further export terrorism and warmongering abroad and carry out suppression at home.“

In light of the Iranian regime’s announcement, practically withdrawing from the nuclear agreement, and simultaneous with the meeting of EU Foreign Ministers on Iran on Friday, January 10, 2020, the Iranian community of Belgium, supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK), will hold a rally to urge the EU to reinstate the six UN Security Council resolutions imposing sanctions against the regime.

A statement by Iranians says that they will underscore that “Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the notorious Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), who was eliminated last week, was one of the greatest criminals of Iran’s history, who was personally involved in the massacre of hundreds of thousands of people in Iran and the region. Soleimani and the IRGC massacred 1,500 protesters, wounded 4,000, and detained 12,000 during the nationwide uprising in November that shook the regime to its foundations.”

The statement by the Iranian community in Brussels, supporters of the MEK, urges the EU to end the policy of appeasement and recognize the right of the Iranian people to resist and rise for freedom to replace popular sovereignty in place of the mullahs’ rule.

The supporters of the MEK’s rally will start at 13:30 on Schuman Square, near the European Parliament and will end at 14:30 local time.
