Students in Shiraz

Students in Shiraz, a city in south-central Iran, took to the streets chanting “This year is a year of sacrifice. Seyyed Ali (Khamenei) will be overthrown!” “Shame on you!” and “Basiji get lost!”

The words “Have no fear, we are all together” and “Death to the dictator” was shouted by female students in Saqqez, a city in western Iran. A few of them were put under arrest. Students participated in the country-wide protest and held a demonstration in the streets of Marivan, a city in western Iran. Residents there also honked their car horns to show their support for them. Female high school students demonstrated and chanted “Mullahs must get lost!” in the Iranian city of Mashhad, which is located in the northeast.

Sanandaj and Saqqez

Sanandaj and Saqqez high school teachers in Kurdistan Province cities went on strike to demand the release of their imprisoned co-workers.

Numerous universities across the nation saw more protests and demonstrations today. “Iranians will die but will not accept humiliation,” were the protesting slogans shouted by the Khajeh Nasir University students in Tehran. With the slogan “If we don’t stand together, we will end one by one,” students at Tehran University’s Faculty of Management demonstrated. Additionally, Meli University students demonstrated shouting, “Basij is a liar!”

Students from Mashhad’s Imam Reza University joined Sharif University students in continuing their protests by expressing their support for them. At a protest rally held by students at Ferdowsi University, the slogan “Justice – Freedom – Optional Hijab” was shouted. “Freedom is our right!” and “Imprisoned college students must be released,” among other statements, were carried on placards by the medical students of Gilan University in Rasht during their demonstration. They also carried a leaflet that read, “Ambulances are for transporting patients,” making reference to the use of ambulances by the regime’s security forces to repress, detain, and murder protesters.

The regime’s security agents

The regime’s security agents in universities are calling the families of students and threatening them to stop their children’s activities in an effort to intimidate the families of students and prevent student strikes and protests.

Many stores are closed and workers are still on strike as a result of last Friday’s massacre of worshipers in the Iranian city of Zahedan.

In the central Iranian city of Isfahan, store owners on Taleghani Street went on strike and shut their doors.

In today’s protests, farmers from Khorasgan, a city in the province of Isfahan, joined the movement. “Raisi is a liar! Where is our Zayandeh Rud?” they chanted, referring to their local Zayandeh Rud river, which is dried out. They also chanted “With God’s help, victory is near! Down with this deceptive government!”
