The would-be Foreign Minister of the Iranian regime reaffirmed his ministry’s commitment to encourage and assist terrorism. According to the Fars News Agency, Ebrahim Raisi’s nominee for the Foreign Ministry, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, informed the regime’s parliament that he will “continue Qassem Soleimani’s path.”
Qassem Soleimani was in charge of spreading terrorism
The IRGC’s Quds Force commander, Qassem Soleimani, was in charge of spreading terrorism and turmoil around the world. Soleimani oversaw and supported the regime’s proxies in the region, took part in the Syrian Civil War, and kept Bashar-al Assad’s rule from falling apart. He was called a “child killer.”
In January 2020, he was assassinated in a drone strike while attempting to sneak into Iraq.
Abdollahian gained a lot of expertise from Soleimani
Amir Abdollahian emphasized that he gained a lot of expertise working with Soleimani in the foreign policy sector.
The Foreign Ministry of the Iranian regime has consistently backed the regime’s terrorist acts.
The regime’s terrorism overseas
Mohammad Javad Zarif, the so-called “moderate” foreign minister, stated in a leaked audiotape from late April 2021 that the mullahs’ foreign policy is merely aimed to excuse the regime’s terrorism overseas.
While referring to the regime’s terrorist efforts as the “field,” this released audiotape emphasizes that “the military field rules.” “Rather than field servicing diplomacy, I have sacrificed diplomacy for the military field,” Zarif continued. He also mentioned the regime’s “Security structure” at the Foreign Ministry.
Zarif’s tight friendship with Soleimani
Zarif’s tight friendship with Soleimani was verified by Mohsen Baharvand, Zarif’s Deputy Minister of Legal and International Affairs, in January 2021.
“I will never forget that when I went to the Political Studies Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs almost every Tuesday at 7:30 am to attend a strategic meeting on foreign relations, I saw the glorious martyr, General Haj Qassem Soleimani, who was escorted out of the meeting room by Dr. Zarif,” Baharvand wrote according to the semi-official ILNA New Agency.
The regime’s diplomat-terrorist, Assadollah Assadi
After carrying 500 grams of TATP explosives, the regime’s diplomat-terrorist, Assadollah Assadi, attempted to blast the opposition’s protest in France in 2018. After being found guilty, Assadi was sentenced to 20 years in jail. The Foreign Ministry played a key role in thwarting the attempted bombing.
Amir Abdollahian has been a part of the regime’s “security” apparatus in the Foreign Ministry for many years. When he was the Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, he worked closely with Soleimani.
The regime is eager to escalate its terrorist threats
Raisi’s selection shows that the regime is eager to escalate its terrorist threats once more. Raisi, as the custodian of the Astan-e Quds Razavi, a massive financial institute associated with the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, has played a key role in financing and supporting terrorists.
The current administration, according to the Iranian Resistance, is the true face of a “plundering and terrorist” state. The international community must recognize that the regime’s terrorism and diplomacy are inextricably linked. As the regime’s former president Hassan Rouhani acknowledged, “the frontline and diplomacy are two arms” of the regime. Hence, the international community should confront them both.
