Report from Times UK

This terrorist act came about after a domestic uprising in which the (PMOI / MEK Iran), was the main driving force behind the January unrest, leading to the possibility of the (PMOI / MEK Iran), gaining control over Iran.

November 27th is the day when Iranian terrorists will be tried in Antwerp, Belgium. A high-ranking diplomat who was working at the Iranian embassy in Vienna in 2018 is one of those who will be tried. His arrest was a day after the intended attack on the “Free Iran Rally” of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), which was scheduled to take place in the Paris suburb of Villepinte.

If the attack had been successful it would have been quite unusual as most attacks on western soil are organized by Hezbollah. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the NCRI was allegedly the main target, but given the amount of explosives that would have been used, there is little doubt that the casualty numbers would have been high.

One of the key issues of the trial is that Assadollah Assadi as a diplomat representing Iran is not the only official who should admit to their role in terrorism. The whole Iranian regime should be tried as well and the international community should recognize the regime’s role in initiating terrorist attacks.

When it was found that the bombing plot had failed, the regime said nothing about condemning Assadi. Iranian authorities put in extra effort to block Assadi’s extradition. Assadi has threatened further terrorism if Belgian authorities refused to cooperate with him.

The regime, which actively sponsors terrorism, organized this terrorist attack, and must be held responsible. European governments must not welcome or permit Iran’s Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif, to come to any countries in Europe and Zarif should be held accountable because his diplomat was the main person involved in the terrorist act.

This Assadi case should signal to Europe the Iranian regime’s role in terrorist activities. MP Theresa Villiers, who attended the 2018 Free Iran Rally said if the defendants are convicted this must be a wake-up call to the international community so that it will mount more pressure on the Iranian regime to bring to destabilizing support for international terrorist groups around the world.

After the 2018 terror plot, the EU has kept silent because it doesn’t want to ruin its relationship with Iran.  To reinforce those relationships at this point would be to send the message that Iranian terror threats are an effective tactic for intimidating Europe into silence.

The 2018 terror plot

This came about after a domestic uprising in which the (PMOI / MEK Iran), was the main driving force behind the January unrest, leading to the possibility of the (PMOI / MEK Iran), gaining control over Iran.

It is important that any movement that challenges the theocratic regime should also look into the antagonistic relationship with Western and Arab nations.

Mrs. Rajavi’s 10-point plan to determine Iran’s future calls for peaceful relations and an end to terrorist proxies.

The (PMOI / MEK Iran), is a movement that the international community should support. If the terrorists who attempted to bomb the (PMOI / MEK Iran), rally are convicted, then it is time to be more assertive. This would probably start with a rise in terrorism-related sanctions or the closing of embassies where terrorism is channeled.
