As Nowruz, the Persian New Year, beckons with its promise of renewal and rebirth, an undercurrent of defiance and hope surges through Iran, orchestrated by the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and its affiliated Resistance Units.

This season, traditionally a time for joyous celebrations and fresh beginnings, is witnessing an intensified challenge to Iran’s theocratic regime, marking a significant moment in the country’s ongoing struggle for freedom.

In a series of daring demonstrations of dissent, members of the Resistance Units have taken to the streets across various cities. Their actions, ranging from posting banners to creating graffiti, are not just acts of rebellion but powerful declarations of an unwavering quest for the overthrow of Iran’s oppressive government apparatus. Despite the regime’s efforts to quash these voices through a blend of propaganda and repressive measures, the resolve of these activists remains unshaken, cutting through the pervasive atmosphere of fear.

Central to this movement are the figures of Massoud Rajavi, the leader of the Iranian Resistance, and Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). Images of these leaders, alongside messages such as “Death to Khamenei,” “Viva Rajavi,” and “Long Live Freedom,” have emerged as symbols of resistance. They are a direct challenge to the regime’s supreme leader and a beacon of hope for those yearning for liberation.

This sentiment of defiance and the desire for change is echoed across the nation, from Tehran to Isfahan, Mashhad to Bandar Abbas. In cities like Arak, Qazvin, Kerman, and Karaj, the imagery and messages of the Rajavis reinforce the inevitability of the regime’s collapse and the journey towards emancipation. Furthermore, the southeastern city of Zabol to Ahvaz in the southwest, and even in the religious city of Qom, Resistance Units have showcased their bravery, spreading messages predicting the downfall of Khamenei’s reign.

The actions of the Resistance Units come at a time when the regime is desperately attempting to instill terror among the populace to stifle dissent, particularly harsh toward the supporters of PMOI/MEK and the families of Iranian Resistance members, meting out heavy prison sentences. Yet, the ranks of the Resistance Units continue to swell, signaling the regime’s failure to dampen the spirit of resistance.

As Nowruz heralds a period of rejuvenation, the bold initiatives of the Resistance Units, in defiance of the regime’s crackdowns, symbolize a pivotal moment in Iran’s relentless pursuit of liberation. Their efforts not only challenge the current oppressive regime but also illuminate the path towards a future characterized by freedom and democracy. In the face of adversity, the Persian New Year becomes a canvas for the Iranian people’s indomitable will to reclaim their nation, a testament to the undying spirit of resistance that defines the heart of Iran.
