On December 11, at the 21st Doha Summit, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made a statement that starkly contrasts with the international community’s stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Attended by leaders of various countries and regional organizations, Amir-Abdollahian declared the Iranian regime’s rejection of the two-state solution, a position that has increasingly become isolated as most Islamic and Arab countries, along with the broader international community, advocate this approach as the sole path to ending the longstanding conflict in the Middle East.

The regime’s antagonism towards the two-state solution reflects a consistent pattern of behavior that dates back to the era of Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the current Iranian regime, and continues under the leadership of Ali Khamenei, the present supreme leader.

Khomeini and Khamenei have historically opposed key Palestinian figures and organizations, including the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), Yasser Arafat, Mahmoud Abbas, and the broader aspirations of the Palestinian people. Their actions have been primarily aimed at creating discord and obstructing the realization of a two-state solution and peace in the Middle East. They have attempted to project an image of themselves as champions of the Palestinian cause, yet their actions have been marked by betrayal and hypocrisy, paralleling their treatment of the oppressed and impoverished people of Iran.

This declaration by Amir-Abdollahian is not merely an undiplomatic remark but a clear manifestation of the Iranian regime's deep-rooted hostility towards Palestine, the peace process in the Middle East, and its persistent efforts in sowing division and fostering conflict at the cost of innocent lives.

This duplicitous stance of the Iranian regime was highlighted in an article published by Al-Arab Newspaper on October 19, which disclosed the 40-year secret of the regime’s approach towards the Palestinian issue. The article criticized the regime’s lack of genuine commitment to the Palestinian cause, noting its failure to provide substantial support or refuge to Palestinians over the years.

In a striking contradiction to the international consensus on the two-state solution, Khamenei has proposed a referendum for the governance of a single state. This suggestion was so far-fetched that it was met with skepticism even within the regime. Rahim Ghomeishi, a war critic and analyst, expressed disbelief at this proposal on December 11, highlighting the regime’s hypocrisy in advocating for a referendum in Israel-Palestine while denying the same democratic right to its own people in Iran.

The Iranian Resistance has consistently exposed the regime's aggressive and warmongering intentions, as well as its resistance to peace in the Middle East.

On December 12, Iranian opposition President-elect Maryam Rajavi of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), addressed a conference at the U.S. Congress, emphasizing the regime’s long-standing opposition to peace. She stated that the Iranian regime was the main antagonist to the peace process following the 1993 agreement. Rajavi further asserted that the root of war and terrorism in the region can be traced back to Tehran, advocating for firm action against the religious fascism governing Iran as the only viable solution to the crisis in the Middle East.
