In a recent statement, the Comité Français pour un Iran Démocratique (CFID), a diverse group of French figures with varying political backgrounds, expressed deep apprehension regarding the Iranian regime’s clandestine activities directed against the principal force of organized opposition in Iran, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI).

The CFID’s statement notably underscores the alarming actions of Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, the head of Iran’s judicial system, who stands accused of involvement in crimes against humanity, hasty trials, and executions. Ejei’s recent call for the trial and extradition of prominent resistance members has raised significant concerns within CFID’s ranks.

The committee raises the alarm that Ejei’s apparent fixation on suppressing this opposition movement may be indicative of preparations for potential terrorist actions in Europe. Moreover, it could serve as a strategy to evade international legal proceedings against key figures within the Iranian regime.

CFID underscores that remaining silent in the face of these heinous crimes equates to tacit approval of ongoing human rights violations in Iran. As a result, the committee urgently calls upon the United Nations, the European Union, and other international organizations to throw their support behind the Iranian Resistance’s plea for the establishment of an international court. This court would be tasked with prosecuting those responsible for crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Iranian regime.

The CFID’s statement emphasizes the need for swift and decisive action on the international stage to safeguard the principles of justice and human rights, while holding the Iranian regime accountable for its actions against the PMOI and the broader Iranian population.
