The Free Iran World Summit 2023, held on July 1 at the National Council of Resistance of Iran’s (NCRI) headquarters in Auvers-sur-Oise, near Paris, became a platform for influential voices advocating freedom and justice.
Among these voices was the strong and inspiring rhetoric of Kira Rudik, a Ukrainian member of Parliament and leader of the Golos Party.
Rudik, who had traveled from a war zone to attend the summit, shared profound lessons from her nation’s struggle for freedom and how a nation can overcome all odds with iron-willed determination.
“Free people of Iran, I salute you. Today is day 493 since the full-scale invasion of Russia started. We are living proof of the fact that you cannot fight if you are fighting alone,” she began. Her potent words highlighted the importance of unity in the struggle against oppressive forces.
Rudik extended gratitude to the Iranian people for their solidarity and made it clear that their fight was not theirs alone. “Free people of Iran, you are not alone as well. And all of us being here today is proof of that.
We are fighting the same fight, the rightful fight, the fight for freedom,” she proclaimed. Amid the recollection of harrowing experiences back home, she emphasized the sacrifices necessary for freedom. “Freedom is not free. That you have to fight for what you believe in. And sometimes you have to pay the price.”
Rudik drew attention to the atrocities inflicted by Russian missiles and Iranian drones on innocent people. She vehemently called for “punishment, for more sanctions for all authoritarian regimes, Russian, Belarusian, and Iranian, that are taking part in killing innocent people every single day.”
Her speech delivered a message of peace, of the possibility of a diplomatic solution, and the dream of free democratic countries. However, her key message was hope and belief in the seemingly impossible. “We know one thing and we are again the living proof of it. That one is more capable than the world expects of him and most important, that you are more capable than you think of yourself.”
Her conversation with Mrs. Rajavi, during her visit to Ashraf III, instilled in her a powerful motto: “We can and we must!” A phrase she shared with her fellow fighters in their long struggle against oppressive regimes.
Rudik concluded her powerful address on a note of unyielding optimism and faith in the victory of freedom and democracy. “Ukraine will prevail. Freedom will prevail. Democracy will prevail. And free Iran will prevail.”
Her speech resonated with her listeners, leaving an indelible mark on the Free Iran World Summit 2023, amplifying the unified voice of nations longing for freedom and justice.
