Khamenei warned his officials to refrain from internal rivalries, saying, “When one wants to destroy someone or looks at them as a rival, they attempt to bring each other down. This approach, whether by the government or the parliament, is dangerous.” He shared these views during a meeting with MPs personally selected by him.

On April 22, Khamenei met with the heads of the regime’s branches, tacitly admitting his struggles to consolidate power, an initiative he commenced after the widespread 2019 uprising. He encouraged a cooperative approach, saying, “They all should cooperate and synthesize. The constitution has created a perfect opportunity for them to work together; if so, they can overcome every problem.”

However, just a week later, the regime’s parliament impeached Reza Fatemi Amin, the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade in Ebrahim Raisi’s government. The impeachment, linked to corruption allegations, revealed the parliament’s misuse of observatory tools, according to Khamenei, who expressed his anger and frustration over this incident on May 24.

However, the “Sweetest event” has brought nothing but despair and hardship to the Iranian people. As the Setar-e Sobh newspaper reported on May 24, the current government has failed to fulfill its promises for economic improvement, foreign investment, and better living conditions.

Instead, the economic indicators reveal a dismal performance, as housing poverty rates increase, and the economy continues to stagnate.Khamenei, largely indifferent to the economic crisis, has rejected compromise and duality. “There exists a duality characterized by approximation and destructioz.

One perspective is based on approximation, while the other is destructive… It portrays a competitive mindset aiming to defeat and overpower the opponent,” he stated in his speech on May 23.

Despite the continued unrest and economic deterioration, Khamenei remains committed to his vision of a “young and Hezbollahi” government. He manipulated the 2021 presidential elections to ensure Raisi’s victory, an event he referred to as the "Sweetest event in 2021."

The regime is facing growing discord and popular dissent, which could expedite its downfall. The Iranian people and their organized Resistance movement are preparing for the potential collapse of a regime increasingly consumed by internal strife and economic challenges.
