The nationwide Iran uprising endures with an unprecedented resolve, demonstrating an organized and tenacious movement. Despite the regime’s escalating brutality, its inability to quell what protestors call a ‘revolution’ cements the movement’s resilience.

This steadfastness, mirroring uniform slogans, inventive strategies, and formidable defiance, owes largely to the systematic efforts of the Resistance Units linked with the main organized opposition, the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The regime’s growing desperate and alarmist rhetoric against the MEK emphasizes the organization’s expanding influence, especially among the youth and women.

Mohammad Saeedi, the Friday Prayer of Qom, on May 12 issued a stark warning about the significant threat posed by the MEK to both Islamic and human society. Additionally, the former representative of the supreme leader, Seyyed Ali Ghazi Askar, accentuated the threat of MEK attracting young individuals and intellectuals, reiterating fears expressed by the regime’s founder, Ruhollah Khomeini.

In December 2022, state-run Mashreq News published a report titled “Maryam Rajavi Set to Seize Power in Tehran,” speculating about the potential ascendancy of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the NCRI’s president-elect, as the future President of Iran. This analysis underlines the growing influence and aspirations of the group’s leader.

In a significant move on May 7, 2023, the Iranian group “Ghiam ta Sarnegouni” disrupted over 210 digital platforms owned by Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The group gradually began to release documents exposing the regime’s deliberate efforts to malign the MEK through fabricated information dissemination.

The documents provide irrefutable evidence of the regime’s profound concern about its primary opposition, the MEK. Multiple ministries are engaged in extensive efforts to delegitimize the organization, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs formulating strategies to hinder the MEK’s global initiatives, including advocating for their reclassification as a foreign terrorist organization within the European Union.

However, the disclosed documents reflect Tehran’s apprehension about their potential hurdles in achieving this, considering the current political climate. “Given the current political situation, it is a daunting undertaking,” the documents note.

Despite their relentless efforts, the mullahs have failed to quench the flames of protest or alter their trajectory. Iranians, galvanized by the brave actions of the Resistance Units, audaciously confront the oppressive regime as the uprising persists.

It’s crucial for the international community to extend tangible support to this uprising and recognize the Iranian people’s right to self-defense against the brutal religious fascism ruling Iran, marking a significant act of solidarity with the Iranian nation.
