The national strike of oil and petrochemical contract workers, on Sunday, July 4, 2021, in Tehran and many other cities, including Isfahan, Shush, Ahvaz, Khorramshahr, Khorramabad, Qom, Zanjan, Falavarjan, Takab, and Maravaneh (Ahvaz) continued were the scene of protest rallies against the deplorable living conditions.
Strike in more than 75 refineries
The oil and petrochemical contract workers strike in more than 75 refineries, companies, power plants, and facilities in 22 cities continued for the 16th day running.
The Social Security Retirees protest
The Social Security Retirees and pensioners in Isfahan, Shush, Ahvaz, and Khorramabad gathered in front of the Social Security offices in these cities to protest against low salaries and the lack of response to their demands.
Teachers protest for the eighth day running
The teachers known as “Green record contract employees of the year 2020,” who have converged on the capital, continued their protest gathering for the eighth day running in front of the Education Ministry in Tehran, demanding official employment by the Ministry. “The continuation of such a situation could lead to a social explosion,” the teachers’ union said in a statement.
School Janitors protest
Tehran school Janitors held a large rally in front of the Education Ministry on Sunday morning and protested against their poor living conditions.
The cattle ranchers protest
The cattle ranchers gathered in Takab, protesting against the high price of cattle feed and their low income compared to their costs. They took their cattle in front of the governor’s offices.
Farmers protest
Farmers in Isfahan gathered in front of the Governor’s Office to protest the diversion of the Zayandehrud river away from their farms. The repressive State Security Force attacked the farmers with pepper gas spray and batons.
