(PMOI / MEK Iran) and (NCRI): The regime provides no details on when and where the vaccine is purchased.

The Coronavirus health crisis is continuing to claim hundreds of lives every day in Iran. The Iranian opposition, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the  People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran) says that over 204,600 have now died from Covid-19.

Negligence and inaction

The situation is getting worse and the regime’s negligence and inaction have had a very detrimental impact on the lives of the people.

There was light at the end of the tunnel with approvals of vaccines, but all hopes have been dashed for the people of Iran after Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei announced that Iran is banning the import of the British and US vaccines.

Approved vaccines ban

This means that the people of Iran will have to wait until at least the summer when apparently the domestically produced vaccine will be ready. Denying the people access to approved vaccines is tantamount to another mass murder.

Knowing that the news of the import ban has not been well received by the people, the regime has been trying to downplay the extent of the crisis.

President Hassan Rouhani said a few days ago that it was great to see the daily death toll down to two figures, whereas the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran) was reporting that the figures were over 500 for that day.

(PMOI / MEK Iran), and (NCRI): The mullahs regime’s cruelties in preventing the import of vaccines from the U.S., Britain, or Franc.

The outbreak is spreading faster

This, along with the regime’s official death toll compared to that reported by the (PMOI / MEK Iran), suggests that the outbreak is spreading at a faster pace than the regime cares to admit.

The (PMOI / MEK Iran) has been keeping close tabs on the happenings since the beginning of the pandemic because of the regime’s poor track record of being transparent during times of crises. It reports that the death toll has exceeded 203,000, whereas the regime is reporting that it is just 57,000.

Unfortunately, the international media is reporting the regime’s false figures too, meaning that the stark reality of the situation inside Iran is unknown to many except those living through it.

Cover-up and lies

President Rouhani recently suggested that the people of Iran have been delighted with the government’s response to the crisis, but this could not be further from the truth. Furthermore, the people are being blamed by the government for the situation getting out of control with officials saying that the people are not following restrictions.

However, the people are doing all they can with the very little resources they have. If the government refuses to act, refuses to help the people, refuses to implement measures, and refuses to be honest about the reality of the situation, what chance do the people have?

Iran Coronavirus

(PMOI / MEK Iran), and (NCRI): Iran Coronavirus, Furthermore, the regime is using the pandemic to control the people

Using pandemic to prevent an uprising

Furthermore, the regime is using the pandemic to control the people. Following major protests in 2018 and 2019, the authorities can impose strict social protocols.

The international community must open its eyes to what is going on. The regime was calling for sanctions relief last year, but now the regime is sanctioning itself by banning the import of approved vaccines. The situation makes no sense and it should ring alarm bells for foreign powers.

Mullahs regime’s criminal policy

Denying the people an approved vaccine should actually result in increased pressure on the Iranian regime. It should not be allowed to continue disregarding the lives of its people like this.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi is the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran’s (NCRI): The delay in purchasing and importing the COVID19 vaccine is the continuation of the mullahs regime’s criminal policy, which will continue to claim more victims among the deprived and oppressed people.
