MEK Iran: Supporters of the Iranian Resistance Continue to Protest Against the Execution of Navid Afkari

Iranian and supporters of the NCRI and MEK organized a protest against the execution of the Navid Afkari, Iranian wrestling champion.
Iranian Resistance supporters across the world have rallied together to protest the execution of Navid Afkari and hold the Iranian regime accountable for their crimes.
On the evening of 12 September 2020, supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC) organized a protest against the execution of the Navid Afkari, the 27-year-old Iranian wrestling champion.

During the protest, Iranians and the MEK and NCRI supporters called for accountability for the Iranian regime; who have been able to commit their heinous crimes for decades without repercussion.
In a recent statement OIAC said:
“The shocking news on the secrete execution of Navid Afkari in the city of Shiraz, after months of horrific torture and forced ‘confession’, should serve as another reminder that the cruel and barbaric regime of Iran must go. In the early hours of September 12, the Iranian regime killed the 27-year-old wrestling champion, Navid Afkari, without any notification to his lawyer or family members.

The statement continues:
Navid’s execution highlights the following for world leaders:
- Ongoing executions in Iran is a direct result of impunity and silence by the world community. It is time to cut all diplomatic ties and isolate the regime in its entirety. European countries must recall their ambassador from Iran to register their condemnation over the ongoing executions there.
- No amount of negotiations and talks will change the behavior of the regime in Iran. The mullahs have no legitimacy and do not represent the people of Iran. It is time to end all talks and negotiations with the mullahs in Iran.
- Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, Iran’s President, Hassan Rouhani, and his entire cabinet must be held accountable for their ongoing crimes against humanity. The criminal Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) must be disbanded and disabled in promoting any further violence at home.”
Holding #Iran regime accountable for murder of #NavidAfkari and other crimes against humanity is indispensable to mitigating the multitudes of threats they pose to all of mankind. #1988Massacre @SecPompeo @VOAIran https://t.co/7etE5WPxKj
